Do people not understand how fast ships can disengage from a fight and get into FTL?

Look at Mass Effect 2. Look how fast Joker fled from the Collector ship as it was firing on the SR2. The entire fleet had more than enough time to see the Crucible start lighting up after Shepard makes his choice, then make the jump into FTL speeds to wherever their RV point is. There's still nothing to indicate where that RV point is if it's beyond the Sol relay or somewhere in system.

Yeah you mean like how the Destiny-Ascension easily slips into FTL and bypasses the Geth fleet assaulting it, thus saving the council and not requiring the Alliance fleet to clear a path for it. Ohwaitno.

The Normandy was one ship in deep space. A whole fleet trying to disengage at FTL while another fleet is in the way while over a planet... does the term "cluster****" mean anything to you?

Don't forget that the FTL drive won't activated as long as there is crap in front of you in range of sensors. Since both fleets were in a giant ball meshed together, yeah, good luck getting clear of that in a hurry.

Well, Hackett says to get to the rendezvous point. Meaning the whole damn fleet's meeting on planet jungle. Logic would say as much, anyways.

If that is correct and the entire fleet, not just the Normandy, were to crash on Eden, than none of them are going anywhere real soon.

Angry One and others, you have seen a screenshot without the full context that goes on with that screenshot. There is more content around that shot not included.

While I understand you are guarded about what the EC will be, I do suggest until you play it or experience it in the full before you talk about how bad it is. If, having doe so, it still does not meet your expectations or it does (because they are negative and you believe we do not fix the issue) THEN complain about it.

I find it ironic that you are authorizing people to COMPLAIN about something that Bioware does. Last I checked, anytime a person COMPLAINED about something, it was labeled as "destructive criticism" and the person is immediately banned. So, given this statement, are you saying that it's OK to complain if/when we find ourselves disappointed?

well in the destroy ending where the crucible destroys all tech it is understandable why the normandy was affected by the shock wave. but the best destroy ending and synthesis and control it should'nt have been, at least from the evidence we have i don't think so , so hopefully the ec says why. maybe it was affected because edi is part of the normandy (somehow) which could explain why no other ships besides the reapers were affected

See now I'm picturing the shot panning out to reveal the smoking wrecks of the entire fleet lying in the distance.
Oh well, at least if the liveships crash then Tali and Garrus won't starve... and people won't be so damn inbred in a few generations.

I don't mean to sound like a game snob like but don't you think it might be a good idea to wait 4 days and see what the actual scene shows rather than judge everything based on one screenshot?

Ok no I take that all back WAIT A FEW MORE DAYS PEOPLE

Be funny if as everyone's getting out, ships are still falling out of the sky. Raan steps out and gets smushed by a turian fighter, Hackett greets Joker only to have the Destiny Ascension land right on his ass

So i guess they spenthours working out who they could character assasinate in order to save Joker from being a yellow coward. So sorry for Hackett that they seem to have turned him into an idioit or a yellow coward.

How would it be idiotic or cowardly for an Admiral, who is in charge of all of the fleets in this battle, to order all forces to retreat, leaving behind two men?

The supreme commander of the combined galactic fleets was Shepard.  He assembled them, and it was on his order that they attacked.  Hackett's order was like Loghain abandoning kailan.

I wouldn't say Shepard was the main guy leading it all, that falls between Victus and Hackett really, but Shepard is the guy who made all of this happen. He's the goto guy for Hackett for three games. Hackett would've at least sent someone to pick Shepard up since he's not just anybody.... but nope.

So the EC still makes Joker into a coward Eh? Hope is dropping...

The Joker I knew and loved would have told Hackett to go to hell and fly closer to Earth to extract Shepard after the fight is over.

Nah.

It turns Hackett into a coward, and Joker into an idiot. :police:

As long as you complain in a non dickish way.  Can you do that?

Great to see people talking about how bad the EC is and the EC hasn't even released and doing speculations from a single screenshot of the entire EC. People can't even wait four days to download and play the EC and give their opinion of the EC.

I await Joker's response. Will it be, "I'm sorry sir, but I made a promise to Shepard to see this one to the end."

Or, "Sure! Shepard's a goner anyway, lololol."

I see my LI in the background. Nothing like a little more salt in the wound.

Well now that makes it even better. I mean on Earth there would presumably still be some food stores, medical supplies, and abandoned technology to scavenge, but now they literally have no planet-side resources to work with aside from local flora and fauna.

It's okay nobody will starve because Mac Walters says so.
Apparently author's fiat is also now part of the "artistic statement".
