The line just says they need to disengage and regroup at a meeting point. Sounds to me that Hackett is trying to save lives by fleeing the fight and thus making the Crucible an easy target.Lizardviking wrote...
Where is the logic of trying to outrun a weapon that was designed to have unlimited range?!
He's saying the Crucible is armed so their work is done. Not "Crucible will fire! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!".
Fair enough.
I also guess Hackett did not know that the relays would be destroyed, when the crucible was deployed.
I hope atleast that they show the shield fleet sticking around, if only because the idea of leaving the crucible completely vulnerable (I know it is about to fire but why take the chance?) by having no one to guard it.
And also because I do not like the idea of all those soldiers stuck on Earth not having any ships or the people on the Citadel not having any means of getting to Earth.

Who says Joker doesn't protest? Who says Joker even thought he could help Shepard where he was?Leafs43 wrote...

How come Shepard didn't know of this rendevous point?
Why the hell would they tell Shepard anything...hes probably still working for Cerberus...
Actually I am pretty sure they are going to add a scene with hackett telling shepard there is a fall back position.

This has to happen when the Crucible is just about to fire. The backround in the Catalyst chamber shows Reapers and ships still fighting.
There for the order must be to enter FTL since there is no way sublight will outrun that beam to the relay with that short a notice considerign how long it would take for ships to travel there at sublightspeed. In sublight speed ME ships arn't even close to the speed of light.

Wow, is that Garrus back there? But he was with me on Earth. Looks like they still haven't sorted that problem out.
You seriously think this screenshot is from your playthrough? Idiot

Oh for the love of... isn't it best to rip this apart after the Extended Cut is released and everything becomes clear?

Instead of flying head first into Harbinger and the Reaper fleet to save one man who may not even be alive? I guess I shouldn't be surprised by this logic on BSN.

THe crucible was armed to turn everyone into HUSK and he wants everyone to be far enough to not be able to stop it!!!
This thing BETTER explain/show How Shep will control the reapers, that would be the sweetest ending.
N7 Reaper: So Admiral, I hear you went full **** on humanity and choose to use the space tactics of a 3 years old.
Hackett: Shep-
N7 Reaper: EAT MOLTEN LEAD PLASMA!!!!

Not to mention a device of untold mass destruction with no one having a damn clue of what it does...

Battles in open space are short and often inconclusive, as the weaker opponent generally disengages.
Once a ship enters FTL flight the combat is effectively over;
Open space is the stuff between systems, used there to distinguish between battles within systems (where the opponent can’t disengage). The second part refers to scenarios like how the Normandy can escape the Reapers by hitting the heliosphere (the termination shock, the end of a system) and going into FTL.
Terrorists even USED FTL's to attack planets with devastating results..
It only matters if you want to avoid hitting stuff.

Also, does no one take into account Joker's faith in Shepard? He knows Shep will get it done! Why should he zoom head first into a Reaper armada just because of his love for the guy? What's he going to do, go head to head with Harbinger and die a horrible death? Is that preferable to what actually happens?
No but seeing as they've put their survival in the hands of the crucible, I'd think they'd at least protect it from getting destroyed.
