Okay, fine. Codex wrong - I accept that.
I am suggesting it is an FTL jump, as you've gathered. Visually, that is consistent.
I also reject the suggestion the wave didn't start travelling at FTL speeds until after hitting Charon. It can be FTL without a mass relay, and if you look at Joker's computers while he is fleeing, there is a wave explosion from an epicentre while Joker is travelling.
The "wave" effect also occurs before there is a consistent beam to the Charon relay - (0.41)
As Joker is fleeing, (at 2.27) there is a gradual expansion, not a beam. Same wave?
Or perhaps I'm just trying too hard!

Wow, is that Garrus back there? But he was with me on Earth. Looks like they still haven't sorted that problem out.

A Geth and Tali on Rannoch?
Wonderful idea in principle. Wonder how they'll explain that one without space magic.

At the distances involved with FTL travel, the Crucible wave should be covering the entire background.
It is not. It's "following" the Normandy, expanding due to proximity.

Alright guys, let's set the Joker thing aside.
You know what this implies, right?
The entire fleet fled. Therefore, the Crucible wave caught up to them and shredded their engines, causing them to crash on remote planets (if they're lucky) or break apart/drift in deep space.
The good news: Nobody from the fleet will starve to death in Sol!
The bad news: Because they're all dead or stranded on remote planets.

Crew. must. be. reunited.
Please EC, make it so.

The problem with that is the crucible doesn't do anything until Shep picks an RGB ending so by that time the crucible starts firing and it's too late to get away. Having a rear guard is possible. We'll see what happens I guess.

I very much doubt they are going to dare to pull that one given the feedback that this is what people want (it is mentioned in the podcast obliquely). Of course, if Shep is dead, such a reunion will be impossible (but he's not dead in all endings)

It would go against their "artistic statement" remember.

I’ll point out that it is actually FTL in all the cinematics, but I’m not going to try to explain it. Like I said, any explanation they try except for ‘it was a dream’ is going to be complete and transparent BS.

Control ending in the middle. Crucible wave visibly not travelling at FTL hits Charon relay.

I don’t see what you mean. If it takes < 5 hours for the wave to get to Charon, it’s FTL (can you guess why?). Also, see the galaxy map cinematic.
I don’t really even understand what you‘re arguing for or against here. The scene makes no sense. None. It is impossible to ‘make it work’.
