Might as well post it here. This is what Hackett says:

"All Fleets: The Crucible is armed. Disengage and head to the rendezvous point."

So basically 'Abandon the planet we've been fighting to save! The countless soldiers on it, too!'

Alright guys, let's set the Joker thing aside.
You know what this implies, right?

The entire fleet fled. Therefore, the Crucible wave caught up to them and shredded their engines, causing them to crash on remote planets (if they're lucky) or break apart/drift in deep space.

The good news: Nobody from the fleet will starve to death in Sol!
The bad news: Because they're all dead or stranded on remote planets.

There is also the clear problem with timing.  The fleet is still fighting while Starkid talks, so somehow the order was given and all the ships were bailing within what? Seconds?  Maybe minutes?  Unless that is changed somehow, it doesn't add up.

I don’t see what you mean. If it takes < 4 hours for the wave to get to Charon, it’s FTL (can you guess why? Exactly, because it takes that long for light to get there.) Also, see the galaxy map cinematic.

We don't have any timeframe for how long it takes to reach it in control.
Also, the galaxy map cinematic is sped up and stylised.

I don’t really even understand what you‘re arguing for or against here. The scene makes no sense. None. It is impossible to ‘make it work’.

No, but the point is it's completely impossible for the Crucible wave to have caught up with the Normandy if it was using ship FTL.

How much time passes from when Shepard chooses a color and the crucible "fires"? Is there enough time for Hackett to recognize what's going on, order everyone to flee and for the normandy to do what it needs to (pick people up, start fleeing) before being overrun by a column of whatever?

why doesn't joker TURN? TUUUUUURN!!! It's just a narrow column you fool!

Also, The Angry One's recognition of how this beam will have decimated the entire fleet's engines seems like one extra plot hole torn open by BioWare.

Oh this EC is going to be plot holes all the way down...

I have to wonder what those ships were doing circling around in Catalyst scene? Disobedience?

I think you should all just calm down, accept the ending and enjoy ME3 for what it is and not hate it for what it isn't

No, no, a big pile of crap, and not the varied endings we were told would be included in the game ranging from Awesome to the Reapers winning?

Sorry, but no. You either deliver what you say, or don't say anything at all.
I'm not exactly filled with hope about the EC now, but we will wait and see.

What it is, is a self-destructive mess that brought down the greatest sci-fi universe of this decade and the last for the sake of ego.
So no, I won't "enjoy" it.

Of which decade ? 2010s? Yeah, well maybe, but only until Halo 4 comes out

Halo? Oh please. It was a derivative, uninspired world even when the original creators were making it, let alone the hack-job cashcow shovelware it's now becoming.

So I guess the theory's finally dead. Yup. The "test jump theory" supporters must be devastated right now.

Still much more consistent with itself, thus more enjoyable than ME3. And Call of Duty... pretty much any game really.

Exactly, people are just mad at Halo since it steamrolls over everyting in any department, maybe expect texture graphics

I disagree, it’s possible. We know different engines produce different FTL speeds, and therefore the wave only needs to have traveled EvenFTL. It doesn’t make sense, but it’s possible.

Also, take into account that the FTL travel actually consists of acceleration and then deceleration after the halfway point. So the Normandy won’t be traveling at full speed, giving an even larger theoretical possibility for something to overtake it.

Lets hope this DLC doesnt turn out to just be a gift to pro-enders.

From this screen it looks like it will be. If it offers super-simplistic (but stupid) explanations then a) the pro-enders get to say "see? It made sense all along! We were right all along!".

Then anti-enders reply "that's a completely stupid explanation".

And that's when the pro-enders get to call them cry-babies and say the anti-enders were "impossible to ever have made happy".

You can already see it in this thread. The pro-enders are positively giddy. If the whole EC turns out like this screenshot appears to have, it's going to be this thread x 1000.

My guess: Shepard will radio Hackett (right before picking RGB) and tell him that the Crucible is about to go off and that they should prepare themselves.

Joker can't turn because he was too busy looking back for some reason.  But then again, it's all so artistic.  :?

I know. The Charon relay takes several seconds to spin up and fire the beam. The beams on the map fire instantly.
Hence, sped up.

Which is irrelevant since the wave isn't travelling at FTL at any point before Charon.

No. It wouldn't have taken much for ME3 to outshine them all, if they actually put proper effort into making "choices" matter. But no, a complete disregard for sense, past actions, and themes doomed ME3. It was supposed to be an awesome RPG with good shooter elements, except it was a decent shooter with an ok story if you didn't play any others and a very weak story for those who did play the others. The ending reactions show this.

So it's 1.9 GB of a polished turd? But they're explaining how they polished it?

You know what would be really interesting? if they did a free download of the original ending, narrated by the writers where they explained how and why they came up with the s*** f*** of an ending they did. Now that is something I'd like to see. I would like to understand the artistic mind a little more than I do.

If you guys didn't expect exactly this, you're idiots.

You raised a series of issues. We will proceed to get mini-cutscenes that LITERALLY explain every problem you had by showing what happened.

Bioware assumed that we would just infer what was happening. Now they think we're idiots who need everything spelled out for us.

I hope the other stuff in the EC, the stuff about personalizing it based on our choices, is good and valid. Because this part just bugs me.
