Check that out. You can see the main cast. Liara, Garrus, Tali, EDI, Joker, Ashley, and male Shepard, standing before the memorial wall on Normandy. I guess they are having a silent moment in memory of the fallen. I guess if Shepard is dead, Shepard's name will be on the wall, and the group will be there. Perhaps in either case, a few members will say something to express their thoughts and sorrows.

Yes but you can clearly see Ashley there, standing next to Liara, and you can never have both Ashley and Kaidan alive. Also, note that the guy is light purple colored, compared to the others who are blue.

I think, from left to right, liara, ashley, james, kaiden, garrus, joker, tali, edi. Maybe thats shepard and not kaiden? If it were kaiden it'd just be placeholder for his animation.

Pretty sure its the 8 squadmates, not 7 squadmates and Shepard (although obviously Ash and Kaidan wouldn't be there at the same time). Edit - the closest one looks like Joker, and Javik is nowhere to be seen.

Given the apparent disrepair of the Normandy, I'm guessing this is after the crash. I was hoping that would be removed, but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

It'd be tons better if this happened sometime in the future aboard a new Normandy and the old crew gets together to remember Shepard or something.

I don't think so, it was a cutscene. Also was it not CGI cutscene as well?
