Seems unlikely. They aren't going to have the Normandy become stranded somewhere only for it to be rescued shortly afterwards. It would render the stranding utterly pointless, and as they aren't changing the endings it seems unlikely they would remove this scene. They might try to explain it - perhaps everyone fled Earth and the Normandy was simply the last ship to go - but it seems we're stuck with it.OdanUrr wrote...

Pretty sure its the 8 squadmates, not 7 squadmates and Shepard (although obviously Ash and Kaidan wouldn't be there at the same time). Edit - the closest one looks like Joker, and Javik is nowhere to be seen.
Given the apparent disrepair of the Normandy, I'm guessing this is after the crash. I was hoping that would be removed, but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for now.
It'd be tons better if this happened sometime in the future aboard a new Normandy and the old crew gets together to remember Shepard or something.

Damn, read OP post. Sounds like they are going for a BS reason for Normandy fleeing. Given there was no logical one i can hardly say i'm surprised.
OdanUrr in the IT thread figured it out.

I think its more likely that the crew is standing in front of the memorial wall honouring Shepard. Shepard can't be back on the Normandy after the endings unless they substantially change them. Or unless this scene is pre-ending.LazyTechGuy wrote...
Yeah, whoever is standing between Ashley and Garrus, they are reading off of something in their hands. It could be Shepard.

A lot of hope is riding on the crew being reunited with Shepard.

You must've missed the first picture with the quote underneath:wright1978 wrote...

"Mac Walters reviews the scene where Joker disengages the fight on Earth."
<_<
We'll see how this'll work out.

Well, anything is possible with 1.9 GB of content. Sounds like expansive variations depending on playthroughs.

So it wasn't we fight and we die.
Why would you disengage from a fight when you have no idea what the weapon will do and why would you ever try and use a relay if you won't stand and fight while it is being fired.

Check that out. You can see the main cast. Liara, Garrus, Tali, EDI, Joker, Ashley, and male Shepard, standing before the memorial wall on Normandy. I guess they are having a silent moment in memory of the fallen. I guess if Shepard is dead, Shepard's name will be on the wall, and the group will be there. Perhaps in either case, a few members will say something to express their thoughts and sorrows.
I do not see male shepard in that pic. Inface, i think i see, from left to right, Liara, Ashley, Kaiden, Garrus, Joker(?), Tali, EDI.
(Of course, kaiden + ashley is not possible but their positions in this scene could be pre-determined causing you to see both of them in this 'work-in-progress' screen. Not uncommon in game development.)

So, EDI *does* in fact survive the ending... Interesting.
Placeholder. You have also Kaidan and Ashley in the same place.

No she does not.
I dedicated a playthrough to getting her to walk out.
When I picked Control she walked out.
When I reloaded and picked Destroy she didn't.

Actually, Hackett already knew from the beginning of the game that the Crucible was capable of releasing vast amounts of energy. He also compares it to the atomic bomb of the 1940s at one point. My guess is he wants to see what it does from a distance.

no pic of shep looks like we will still have a dead hero in the end..... oh well the hope was nice while it lasted.
Mind you we are only seeing 2 screenshots. And neither explains the "shepard breathe" video we see with the destroy+highEMS ending. Of course that would be the biggest 'spoiler' of them all if they released it this soon.
I can almost feel a little desire to re-play ME3 with the EC to see what happens when my shepard takes a breath.
Of course if they just end with the same 5 sec video of shepard breathing without further clarification it would be a kick in the lugnuts for me.
