So I listened to the podcast and I'm a little confused about something.
At 9:55 - it is said that when the team was looking back on the original ending - they themselves wanted to have a little more time to say good-bye to the franchise.
I don't really see why it wasn't done then - if the team felt that way.
It gives the impression to me - that some of the things we were hearing after the ending controversy started (like writers not being allowed to work on the ending) - might have been true.
Ofcourse I'm only speculating here - and I don't know (and may never know) what went on behind closed doors, but if the team felt like there needed to be more - I'm confused why it didn't just go back to the drawing board.
I mean back then - BioWare had a huge hype to live up to with Mass Effect 3.
