Just like to say hi to the guys who posted on all the locked down threads on this issue, looks like we've been shafted oops
What a vague post Mr Priestly. What a suprise
Well this just proves this was intentional right from the start to get people to play multiplayer.

Alas I still can't trust this statement given it's blatant revisionism ("extra work (multiplayer, importing a save, playing the iOS games, etc)"and unfortunate phrasing ('including comprehensive SP play through') when from the start they have always assured us these were alternate avenues to the 'absolute best ending'.

Now can someone mix that line to the quantum leap intro.

Thanks Bioware I feel so grateful.
Although it still doesn't say you can obtain all endings in SP:
"If you don't play MP, you have to find other ways raise to raise your EMS before attempting to retake Earth, including a comprehensive single player play through" /sic
Whatever that means as even excluding the typo it's not exactly clear as it says "including" SP rather than "such as" so it could just mean they are doing another FB app or something equally retarded - like the EC for +500EMS:sick:
Feel sorry for Allen though who was fighting the good fight on the DA forums about this.
Pretty much confirms all my worst fears about the direction Bioware is going still I'm sure that I can find someone else who wants my money:whistle:

Correct. You now need 10000.
My bet is that it's something like 3000 or so

Why is it so f*cking difficult to give a straight f*cking answer?
Because telling us this was intented all along, just to push people into multiplayer, would be admitting that they lied. But, they're not saying it was a bug, either.
I've drawn my conclusion. This is no way to treat your fans and customers. If they were upfront about this from the very first announcement of the multiplayer, it wouldn't be so bad. Yeah, there would've been an even bigger outrage (as a lot of people were/are opposed of multiplayer being shoehorned in), but simply denying it, closing threads, telling us we're idiots for not doing everything to get the maximum EMS, even if we're all metagaming with guides to hell and back... that's infuriating.

This may be a bit premature, since we don't know for "sure" if this is fixed yet. But I feel it important to extend my deepest appreciation to everyone here who kept this issue alive these past few months. And to those who crunched the numbers in order to prove the SP EMS deficiency. It's been a rocky road - lockdown after lockdown, post after post, waiting for three months for an answer only to be met with protracted ambiguity yesterday.

People have been asking about the EMS and how it changes in the Extended Cut DLC.
The original experience of the game was meant to reward players who did extra work (multiplayer, importing a save, playing the iOS games, etc) with greater levels of success in the end, which is appropriate to a story about a war that needs every possible advantage in order to win. But now that we are moving to a post-launch period and have additional content for the endings, we wanted to make it easier for all players to experience even the best-cast endings. Playing multiplayer is just one component is a sea of variables that can affect your ending. If you don't play MP, you have to find other ways raise to raise your EMS before attempting to retake Earth, including a comprehensive single player play through. Likewise if you suffered some blows to your EMS prior to assaulting Earth, MP is a great way to raise your score high enough for the final assault.
Keep in mind that the results of having a very low EMS rating can have distinct effects on the outcome of the game in teh same way having a high EMS can.
You do realize that Mass Effect is a single player game? I didn't think anyone had to point that out to you, but you brought up Multiplayer game 5 times in your OP. A multiplayer game appeals to those that like multiplayer games. A iso requires a phone to play it. Basically, you are saying you need to spend $200 on a phone, $100 for a decent data service plan, $100 on internet(DSL or Broadband), and various amounts to subscribe to online services to access multiplayer on top of the $60+ for the game. It must be nice to think people have that much money to spend to get the "best" ending. Once again, poor planning and poor customer service. Going from what posted since your OP, it is still required to spend all this money and play these poorly designed outsourced games to get the best ending. Way to show that Bioware is "listening".

Before release, they claimed no single player content was restricted by multiplayer...
