An actual answer on what the new 'magic EMS number' is would be reeeeeally helpful before the EC comes out, y'know? If we have to start at the Cerberus Base to see all of the EC, do I need to be getting my readiness back up above 50%, or not? Simple question.

Its not like they told us before. Gamer guides/datamining found the answer. Same thing Tuesday I would assume.

I guess...

Ah well, I'm at work all day Tuesday anyways. Hopefully by the time I get home, players will have posted their results, and I'll know if I have to play a couple of quick games of MP before starting.

I wonder what time on the 26th that the EC DLC goes live coz I'm actually leaving on a trip that day till July 1st. I couldn't believe it when I read the 26th, of all times for the release it had to be when I'm away. :((

What I really dislike is the sly suggestion that if I wasn't an Xbox live subscriber and didn't own an iDevice I should go out and buy one to help the 'war' effort.

After ending I felt like being slaped in the face, after reading this OP I feel like Bioware hand is being raised to another slap but this time we see it but do not know in which cheek they will strike

--- I don't see the fix here.

People who bought a physical copy, with their physical money, and carried it home in their physical hands, are still being screwed if they lack a broadband connection. Whether it's because they can't connect to a multiplayer server or if it's because they can't connect to a patching server is moot: they still can't get the best ending.

And to now know that it was done on PURPOSE... I can't fathom why someone would think this to be a good idea. Gaming in general seems to be committing a slow seppuku.

I get it, but whats the alternative? Mail out USB keys with the patches? Patching the issue with a one time download to eliminate the need for a constant connection is the only solution I see, and is hopefully what's happening.

Exactly.  And I like how Priestly says they "rewarded" those players who played MP or had devices.  Ain't that a kick in the teeth to the loyal customers who don't have said devices or did/could not play MP.  I think it portends Bioware's future endeavor to appease the CoD crowd.  They obviously want their money more than us single players.  Well, I don't think they will be getting much more out of me, considering Priestly's "reward" comment.

If only bioware had some kind of forum they could anounce these things on......

Indeed. I "love" how You read a web article but instead of ending You see :"for more  follow me on Tweeter"; buy a game, complete by Dlc. Now Ubisoft is doing same thing with Future soldier-also a dumbed down , CODlike version of previous installments. I think it and ME3 were my last 2 new games on x360

While fixing the EMS issue the good, Chris Priestly admits that it was intentional that we couldn't get all endings without MP. I've always suspected as much. MP is a possible cash cow and anything that motivates people to play MP makes business sense.
But it is insulting to everyone who played the ME games for the story, even more so after the promise that exactly this wouldn't happen. Personally, I can live with it since I have a PC and can cheat, but this doesn't inspire confidence in future story-driven titles.

seriously, Guys , do You really hope for the better product and customer policy with future rpg games or anyother one from this studio and developer? after 3 months of bs? I am sorry but all analysts sugest that future of profit from games is in microtransactions so do not expect going back to full product on disc  and not forcing mp on players-from EA and other developers.
unless Bioware will leaves EA's "Umbrella" [RE pun intended];)

It kinda sounds like he's saying what they've been saying this whole time.

He never actually SAID they were adjusting the EMS.

He said on his personal twitter that:

You no longer have to get to 4000

Why oh why he didn't post that in the OP instead of the waffling around we got is beyond me.

It also doesn't tell us what the new minimum requirement is. I guess we'll have to wait till Tuesday to find out.

This whole thing has left an incredibly sour taste in my mouth. I have problems with other things in the game but this is the only one that has me actually angry, and most of that is due to having all of us who have taken the time to dig into it, post our findings, compare notes and come up with the reason why be ignored, insulted, lied to and dismissed. This hand wavey "acknowledgement" is just another in a string of slaps to the face.

I don’t so much care about the MP requirement so long as I’m not lied to. Repeatedly.

They said, unequivocally, that SP was the only thing needed. No question. This was, apparently, a lie. If they had said from the beginning that MP would be required, then I could have made an educated decision about investing in the game or not.

At least they've done something about it. Mr. Priestly also tweeted about the 4000 EMS requirement no longer being needed.

That's a good thing.

This - I don't care they did it I care they lied about it denying me the ability to make an informed choice about whether to purchase the game. This whole mess has definately pushed DA3 to bargain basement territory if that.

The DA franchise is another beast entirely it's in bargain bin territory due to DA2, it didn't need help from mass effect

Regarding the main end-game outcome as part of a reward system for using external content just feels so wrong. If the rewards in the main game were something like cool guns, mods or even armors and armor accessories, that's understandable. But even though it's just a blip that's a few seconds long, the so-called reward of a best possible ending to the end of an epic series that never compelled people to resort to anything outside of the game itself before now -- it's a blip that changes everything, from the game itself to the saga as a whole. To have to play external content in order to get this... it's just wrong.

Besides, I thought we were told that the best possible ending scenario could be achieved in SP alone, which is evidently not reality. So which is it? A reward system, or is the EMS system glitched?

No offense to Chris, but the first post in this thread is exactly the issue a lot of people are having with Bioware. This is a line from Chris' post: "The original experience of the game was meant to reward players who did extra work (multiplayer, importing a save, playing the iOS games, etc) with greater levels of success in the end." This is b*******. They explicitly stated that all possible endings will be acquirable from SP alone, 4000 EMS is not even achievable with a pure ME1 & ME2 import game. The thing is I've actually played the MP quite a bit, but this goes beyond personal satisfaction.

The point is either they made a mistake or they lied. For humility sake, I think either scenario warrants at least a simply apology. But no, we get this (in my opinion) condescending refusal of admittance with absolutely no tone of remorse. Overreacting isn't my thing, but I think the lack of respect displayed by Chris' post has changed my mind. Before I was going to be cautious based on quality, now I'm just not going to buy another Bioware game new as a matter of principle if this is what they are about now.
