If you replay (as suggested) from before the attack on Cerberus Base, i believe the required EMS is ~3100 to see all the scenes. That should allow you to see everything even without MP (6200 Assets@ 50% readiness rating)
That should answer the question on the thread.
Thank you very much for a concrete number. I personally appreciate knowing this as I can now be confident my Shep will experience the full EC.

Indeed, it is great that this is finally the way they said it would be from the begining. But my brother in Pennsylvania has no internets. He can never see all the scenes at all, because he only has the game out of the box, which is still not a complete product.

So this is the first time I play through Mass Effect 3, took me some time to actually buy it since I knew about the ****y ending. But yeah, so I stopped right before the attack on the Cerberus Base now and I'm waiting for the Extended Cut.
But is it safe for me to bring any of my squadmates in the last mission without any of them dying if my EMS is ~3100? I'm not really 100% sure about how everything works. And does it matter now with the EC if I have more or less readiness rating?
I'm not sure where but I remember reading that if your EMS is too low your squadmates that you take to Earth get killed. But with the EC fix on EMS I'm confident you'll be safe with over 3100.

Multiplayer is especially difficult for players like me who like playing Single Player on a casual setting. I'm a grad student, I really don't have that much time to play video games, and so when I do play them to relax I like to have the difficulty setting at a level where I'm not dying every two minutes. I'm not a great FPS player, so when I suddenly am forced to play Multiplayer with other people who've developed "mad skillz" from Halo and Call of Duty it really leaves me in the dust.
And yes, I usually play Bronze level matches. Still tough for a gamer like me. I always feel bad making other players stop whatever they're doing to revive me. And sometimes they don't bother to revive me, in which case my experience of "playing" multiplayer is really more a case of "watch these talented players with all these other characters you can't unlock kill all the bad guys until you respawn only to die again a few minutes later."
Forcing players to engage in multiplayer to get the most out of single-player, *when consumers were told that they could get everything in single player without playing multiplayer*, is frustrating.
Exactly!

"The devs fix a bug, so you hate them?"
"'Fixing a bug' is when you correct an acknowledged error. 'Giving your fanbase the finger' is when you suddenly start pretending there was no bug in the first place. Besides, Bioware are trouble. I haven't trusted them since that whole Human Reaper episode with the glowy eye. And don't get me started on Dragon Age 2"
"You're paranoid. They simply made a mistake, and now they're fixing it"
"Well that's the official story. Except it isn't - the official story now is that there never was a mistake in the first place. Which is different to the official story then. So only an idiot believes the official story."

Good times.
I know, its kinda tempting to go back and report him for trolling in light of the recent statements:)
Now that is tempting
Thank you Mr Gamble.
Finally after more than 3 months, they've brought down the EMS value so no one is forced to play multiplayer or an app! Just like they promised before the game was out.

Anyway, fixing the EMS issue was probably my biggest priority with EC, so I'm VERY glad it was lowered so that people without XBL can feasibly get the ending where Shepard wakes up. We're off to a good start!

In my opinion I think defensiveness over the choices made in relation to the plot has spilled over into a general reluctance to admit fault over any design choice or error. I still believe that what happened was that they simply lost count of how many EMS points were available to SP players after the inevitable content cuts that every project has as deadlines loom. Of course I've no basis for doing so as 'it's fixed' is all the explanation we're getting it seems.
Remember couple of months ago, there was a post of a guy claiming that he got a PM from Brenon Holmes, in which Brenon said that he talked to the developer named Bjorn, who confirmed that you need MP / iOS apps to achieve 4k EMS? So if that's true - and I have no reason to doubt Brenon, who was nice enough to check it, nor the guy who posted it - then they knew all along, and all this "we are investigating the issue" was just bollocks.
Its page 60 of the megathread that was LOCKDOWNEDcrimzontearz wrote...

AM 2012-03-19 Hmm, so Bjorn is back - asked about some of that stuff.
Turns out your suspicions were correct - you can't get enough assets
with the main game alone to get that additional secret bit. He says in
order to get enough you do need to engage in one of the side games (MP,
Facebook or IOS thingie).
We never saw the original, but yeah I'm sure they "investigated" it real hard <_<
Although I'm very glad they've now fixed this issue, I feel very disappointed that they didn't deliver what they promised in the first place and the way Bioware devs have treated us on the forums with the constant Lockdowns and quotes of 'We do not lie'', ''You can get 4000EMS'' etc. When it seems from that post they obviously knew about the issue.
Because of this I'll not be pre ordering DA3. This will be the first time in ages I'll not have pre ordered a Bioware CE game. I'll be checking out what the customers say about DA3 and then make my decision to buy or not.

Ditto! "This will be the first time in ages I'll not have pre ordered a Bioware CE game"
A faithful Bioware customer I am no longer, given the 3-month (rollercoaster) ride they took us on.

They're not going to answer, that much is obvious. We already know the answer anyway. But I'm particularly amazed at the people thanking Michael Gamble here. I already understand that Bioware sees no problem whatsoever with what they did. But for the fans to accept this... that just means it's going to happen again. This is something that we as consumers should not be willing to accept, and yet that's exactly what's happening here. It's just dumbfounding, really.coolbeans wrote...
Thanks Mike, thats one question answered, Heres another: Why did you deliberately lie about the EMS/multiplayer issue from prerelease until now?
I know I speak for quite a few customers when I say that the handling of this issue has destroyed the trust between Bioware and ourselves.
I understand what you mean but I personally don't want to always just complain and never acknowledge it if they actually give an answer about something.
I agree though about how they treated this whole issue (which shouldn't have been an issue to begin with) and that they are not going to answer the question about the false statements.
And I definitely have not forgiven them and won't trust them again. But I felt it was still a civil thing to do to thank Mike Gamble for at least coming in here and give a real number, instead of ignoring us and/or just saying something on Twitter.
My thoughts exactly. Believe me, I won't forget this issue, nor do I forgive them for the way they treated their customers. But it was the right thing to do, thanking Mr. Gamble for FINALLY doing the right thing and answering our question in an OFFICIAL forum.

Next time it might be a good idea to create DLC out of the MP or at least let us choose if we wish single player DLC or a multiplayer one, because there are people who do not care about MP element...
i played mp and it isnt so bad, but i didnt like "needfull mp idea" in single player game
sometimes i replay old games and where i would find a mp squad lets say after 3 years ?
