So long as Gibbed is still around, never a need to worry about EMS.

Literally made that whole mechanic irrelevant. =]

Well, that was vague and explained nothing.

Oh no, it did reaffirm my belief that Bioware still treat their customers with contempt

The original experience of the game was meant to reward players who did extra work (multiplayer, importing a save, playing the iOS games, etc) with greater levels of success in the end

So you admitt that "You can reach the highest levels of success in the single player experience alone, (...)"* and constantly repeating this was a misinformation on purpose (the word lie would also work here)?

A comprehensive single player play through... Well, that's what I did on the first (and only) playthrough I did of ME3. You know, all those eavesdropping fetch quests with no actual missions on them?

I don't play MP. I shouldn't have to play MP to get the "best ending", considering that the Mass Effect Trilogy is and has always been a SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGN!

As a long time Mass Effect fan, with multiple playthroughs of ME1 and 2 on my belt, I would like to express my refusal of your rethorics. Connecting single player campaign outcome with multiplayer is wrong, ethically wrong, and a violation of the previous foundations established by the series. Let me say that once more: it is WRONG, and your (BioWare's) absence of acknowledgement of that fact is thoroughly disappointing.

I guess I'm just an old-timer, a gamer who needs to be put out to pasture because he doesn't get that gaming has passed him by. Gaming today is truly about MP and social networking, not us lonely guys who still play games for the characters and the story. "I vant to be alone."

Play Bethesda games. They still get it. I've been having fun with a replay of Fallout: New Vegas. Granted, it lacks the deeper relationships with your team that you used to get from BioWare, but at least you can make head canon (Boone is so much happier now with my female courier and his heart has healed). And if you feel a yearning for a good game that can remind you of what BioWare used to be, play DA:O or KOTOR, both of which were awesome games. I hope, one day, to be able to go back and play ME1 and ME2 and pretend ME3 never existed, especially now that we know they haven't changed a damned thing with the ECDLC.

Thank you, Daniel_N7.  Well said!

I would really appreciate some clarification on this, Bioware, so we know what I'm getting into once we start the Cerberus Base again. It would suck to play through all that wondering if we have enough only to not get the ending we have all earned.

Thanks for the recommendations.  I'll have to take a closer look at those games, now.

I'm just disappointed that this was never dealt with in a straightforward manner to begin with. A vague answer on top of what has already been proven to be misinformation isn't really restoring my faith in Bioware right now.

Fallout3 is a great game.  The immersion isn't the same in terms of emotional investment, but wow.

I don't know if I should laugh or cry. Apathy has mostly taken over, I just wanted to see the forums reaction, seems BW has locked down almost everything criticizing the game, not surprising.

Hope you people enjoy your Multiplayer FPS. As for me, there's a slight pulse on the patient, but the doctors are here, and there isn't much they can do so I will preempt with RIP Bioware.

Mmm... Can we gib the save files to increase EMS ? I'm not doing multiplayer or spending hours in a game that killed my LI just to see a happy ending.

You can increase war asset values in Gibbed. I just set the Normandy to 4000 and call it good.

(Edit: if you wanted to ‘play fair’, you could calculate the actual difference you’re losing because of GR and adding that instead, but I really just don’t care. I got there.)

Well, what do you know! We finally got an answer - vague as it is. For this, I am thankful. But the way this response is worded does little to inspire my trust in Bioware. Such ambiguity only reinforces my suspicions - this was intentional, not a bug. We were deceived from the very beginning and Bioware doesn't have the "*****" (as Wrex would put it) to own up to it. It will be interesting to see just how Bioware 'fixed" this - if, in fact, they did.

Not so happy with what I'm seeing so far.
Of course a lot of it is still speculation, I will definitely wait and check for myself, but one thing should be clear Mr. Priestly, locking down our threads isn't going to stop us.

If the Extended ending DLC sucks, we'll have march all over here again and I want you to know that oppressive tactics like those implemented by you here on this board today do not exactly make me want to spend money on your products and I think a lot of people agree with this.

My God... if only. Ok ok... I'll get to work on some of the coding, you grab some artwork from the games to use in backgrounds and avatars. Ok? Go!

If I could do something like that for the PS3, I would. But as far as I know, we're screwed.
