DAO is a much more recent game (obviously), and is a different style of game (less tactical in terms of combat engine).
(snip)
Well, I generally enjoy tactical combat more than action-adventure style combat; but then DAO never set out to be some sort of P&P rpg clone so that's not really a just criticism.
I'm confused. In what sense is DA:O less tactical? KotOR was just spam Force Wave forever, then lightsaber anything still moving.
And I'm going to have to stick up for Carth. It's not whining when your character is the one asking him to talk about that stuff.
I've picked up KOTOR again recently, so I'm in the middle of my 3rd full playthrough now. I don't think I've used that strategy but twice. Nearly every game has a "best strategy" that will deal great damage in most situations. But that doesn't mean there aren't wildly different ways to play it. Over at Game Banshee, someone's posted a character build for a blaster-wielding jedi so powerful you never need your lightsaber or the talents of the NPCs. There is plenty of variety.
