When a disease is Terminal and in the stages that he was in, a cure won't do much.

You aren't just magically "cured".

One does not simply get over something.

EC coming out in a week and BSN is still bitter and angry. Seriously folks, why continue to whip yourselves?

Because after ME3, we no longer know what joy and happiness are.

The EC will give all the LIs the Jacob treatment; calling it now.

They're all gonna be banging each other on the jungle planet.

Maybe they'll show your LI having sex with another crew member, and they'll switch to their perspective and look up, and you'll see them looking at a picture of Shepard on the ceiling, so you know they still care.

Closure!

Yep. I agree.

Miranda: "I'm sorry, Shepard. But I've decided I'm really in love with Jack."

ManShep: "D="

*meanwhile in another universe*

Miranda: "Shepard, I thought you should know. I'm in love with Jack."

FemShep: "Jack? I thought you said you didn't like girls."

Jack: "No, I said I didn't like YOU."

They are concluded when Shepard dies in each ending.

Unless Bioware has it in for necrophiles too....

It doesn't matter. You're still wrong.

He can get a lung transplant, but he says he won't because it would simply delay the inevitable.

If you fix the underlying concern, then you get your lungs and live a happy and healthy life.

It reduces birth rate. A terminal illness is something like stage four cancer.

Terminal means it KILLS the one it affects. All the adult Krogan are fine.

It IS technically Genocide though, as limiting birth rates like that is considered as such.

Tali: *Sob* Shepard's dead.
Garrus: I'm ok with that. *Wiggles headcrests*
Tali: Shepard-who?

In all seriousness, Baldur's Gate 2 was the last Bioware game that I can recall that did not plateau romantic character relationships after sexy-times. Though, allowing that to happen with Aerie actually ends the relationship badly (something they haven't done since) it is at least not "Yay, sex! all is good afterwards!"

For all their talk of righting society's ills with thong armor and balanced character writing, they are still very much plainly predictable with how they write most romantic character arcs. Would love to see some different takes in the future.

Jacob must follow the examples his father set for him. What kind of food they had in the said jungle?

Terminal illness means a disease that cannot be cured or adequately treated and that is reasonably expected to result in the death of the patient within a short period of time.

"...many krogan die in stillbirth, with most fetuses never even reaching this stage of development."

That's terminal from the viewpoint of the fetuses.

Yes. The fetus. It doesn't cure someone that is terminal. It cures the possibility of someone becoming terminal.

Yes?

I stand partially corrected. I forgot about Jack. (And Morrigan, it seems.)

Though Jack's arc does end the same way as the others, with minimal content after Almostendgamesecks, correct? But ends badly if you shortcut it early on (taking advantage of her, I suppose.)

Never played a Jack playthrough.

I guess I will restate what I said earlier, and posit that the vast majority of Bioware relationship writing culminates in sex, and is generally unremarkable after that. \\o/

Those fetuses die because the disease mess with them during development, that's terminal, they can't do anything about it. Thane can live, he just doesn't care if not romanced.

That's what I just said. It prevents things from becoming terminal because the disease is no longer there...

No, that's what causes the terminal state, they become infected and the disease kills them.

It was stated that they had forgotten about Thane being a loved one when we complained about how Shep just left him there and then how no one mentions him after his death.  Patrick Weekes, "“Yeah, I wasn’t in charge of Thane, but I see Thane’s death situation as one of those things that’s the drawback of a large writing team. Lots of followers talk about the Citadel Event in terms of what happens with the VS, but because Thane was optional, it didn’t click with any of us that the player could also have just lost a friend or loved one THERE as well. That was a dropped ball on our end.”

When my FemShep chose Thane in the hospital, I expected it to be a continued romance regardless of how it ends for him.  When she decided she didn't want to or wasn't ready to move on after his death (you know people do things like that, do decide to take time before moving on), I thought that meant Thane was her romance for ME3 but apparently not because you don't get that cheevo for him.  Apparently, choosing him also means he doesn't count.  <_<  Would have liked at least one more conversation with him before his death, sheesh, I felt like the biggest loser in the world having to sneak past him while returning things for fetch quests.  "Hey look over by that big window..in the chair..isn't that your lover?  Oh just sneak past him like a douche because he wasn't given more than one set of dialogue."   One would think that if your love was dying that you'd want to have more than one conversation with him.  But alas, no, all you get to do is listen to how he is dying and a porn noise filled grope fest in public.  Poor Thane, he was used and abused by FemShep.

A google search of the terms "patrick weekes, dropped ball, thane" will give out a whole crap load of stuff about his admission.
