It's kinda hard to ignore something like this when FemShep has no heterosexual options in ME3 if Garrus is passed over [in ME2] and Kaidan was Virmire'd in [ME1]. Taking out Jacob's romance and Thane's while all of MaleShep's romances are perfect and untouched by tragedy or drama really shows how little the writing staff cared about the FemShep players.
Read this again. It is important.
Unless Garrus is romanced in ME2, and if you have killed Kaidan in ME1,
FemShep does not have a single heterosexual romance option in ME3.
In contrast, hetero MaleShep has 4 LIs from ME2 that can continue in ME3, plus Ashley (if not Virmire'd), Liara (of course), and a completely new one in Allers. All but Allers count for the achievement.
That's a total of 7 women (6 if Ashley was Virmired) for hetero MaleShep. Hetero FemShep gets 2 male LIs in ME3. Make that 1 if Kaidan was Virmire'd. Unlike her counterpart, Hetero FemShep has
no "new" male LI option in ME3.
Let the lesbian fantasies abound!
To add insult to injury, BW decides to turn Jacob into a major douche, which is relatively out of character for him, AND kills Thane. No player decision required.
Not to mention that neither count for the Paramour achievement.
And, to top it all off, Thane is the only character with no entry in the Codex. It's like he never existed.
Despite BW's insistence about wanting player decisions to have a big impact on their ending, they apparently don't consider
these events to be of
enough signficance to our character, to give us a say in how they pan out.
Does BW care about their female player-base? I think not.
My guess is that they don't have many women working on the Mass Effect team, either.
