Oh, I absolutely saw this on the news. The kids were idiots, and they're now receiving death threats, hate messages, etc. I believe at least one of them finally apologized, but I haven't closely followed what happened to them. The funny thing is, their behavior isn't so different from that of some of the "BioWare "fans" here.

Wow, really? It's just a video of kids being stupid. Not that big of a deal. I mean c'mon this stuff happens all the time.

Yeah, I agree this is really messed up. These kids should get their asses kicked by someone and get detention. However, her getting paid for this? That is ridiculous. I mean, c'mon... She is a bus monitor for middle schoolers, she has to know kids are cruel. She is in the wrong line of work if she doesn't want to get picked on. She needs to toughen up and get over it.

Sorry, but the moment they placed a finger on her those little darlings chose to give up their privileges. They should have all bus transport suspended or revoked for at least a year, and let the parents get to know their dumplings a bit more in the car poosls. And while death threats amd violence are way past acceptable (thus showing further products of our declining culture), it is good to know that so many do not find such action against the elderly or their elders as tolerable.

As for the money; good for her. Hope she gets a terrific financial advisor, and does what she wants for her remaining retired life. Folks do not think that others have a right to donate to a cause they find worthy? Tough for you; not her.

Yeah; seeing lots like these kids on the forums, too. Agreed.

Christ, the reading comprehension skills of some of you people is just shocking.

People aren't upset and people aren't saying others don't have the right to donate money to the woman. They're saying it's pretty silly for this woman to be receiving so much money for enduring a thing that is so common place everywhere.

I know, and that may be the point; such behaviour is too commonplace, and some may feel that she endured enough suffering to warrant a change. Personally, I hope she receives more; not because she deserves it, but because some of us believe if that she should see more kindness in her life.

Yes; the apathy of prior posts was quite clear. Thanks!

Well then boo hoo, cry me a river.
They opened a donation, they received more money than they expected. It's to be expected considering how many people saw it.

You are acting like we agree with what happened to her. It was wrong of her to get bullied, yes. But do you honestly think she should recieve donations? I mean if that were the case, every 7-18 year old should be getting donations too.

I was a bit upset when i wrote that, i apologize if i sounded hostile.
Anyway, i think theres a bit of a difference when an old lady is harassed in her own work place. These donations are, i think, for her to be able to retire from this bull, while kids would probably have to find some other help cause donations aren't really gonna help them get defended from the bullies.
And like Dragoonlords said, we can't see everything, we can't know for sure what is going on out there unless we see it with our own eyes, then, and only then, we can decide how to act.
She was filmed, she received the attention, people felt sorry for what the kids did to her and wanted to help her, if they saw another person getting the same treatment, they would've done the same, i'm sure.

But she is not among their peers; she is their elder and should merit their respect.

Besides, kids receiving such funds would simply squander it, get computers, and post their entitled hatred of various things on gaming forums....

Yeah, I guess that is true. Teens need to start telling people they are being bullied rather then bottle it up. If more people came out and said they were being bullied, maybe people might start taking better actions.

That doesn't really work. Most schools have a "kids will be kids" attitude.

I was trying to be a little optimistic, but you are right. Suicides at schools can barely rally it's attention.

Worst incident of bullying i have seen was when a group of girls curbed stomped another girl who was by herself.

Overall, bullying is everywhere and it is not going to go any time soon. It's best to develop a thick skin and shrug it off.

There's a neighbourhood near me which is very rough, people who come from there tend to be linked with each other. ****** one off, and the next thing you know they will be waiting for you at the school gates all aged from 13 to 25, each one ready to beat the **** out of you.
