Your argument is flawless. I don't want to agree, but it seems I have no choice :)

The way these forums are handled has always been a bit ridiculous. I got banned for "not being positive in a positive thread" recently.

And thank you for proving my point.

Unless your point was that I dislike anyone targetting me as an individual as opposed to a game then you failed to prove your point.

You proved that you can't stand hearing opinions that you don't like and want them silenced, and even threatened Siansonea with a "vacation" even though you have no right to make such a threat.

The trail of posts you leave behind in just about every ME3-related thread in the forum only reinforces that notion, like when you jumped all over Ivandra Ceruden for voicing her not-so-positive opinion on Bioware and ME3 a while back in ME3 General, and told everyone else who dislikes the game to leave and let the people who do like it talk in peace.

So don't think for a second people don't remember these things, and don't act shocked when you get called out on them.

EDIT: Ah, I almost forgot the best part - the thread in question was a NEGATIVE thread about ME3 - it wasn't even like naysayers had mobbed a positive thread and turned it into a cesspool of rage (something that does occur quite a bit).

Its a no win for bioware at this point. Eidos Montreal did it right: sorry we botched the boss fights. We outsourced them and that was a mistake. Wont happen again.

In comparison biowares stubborn defense was condescending and disingenuous to the fans. They aren't likely to garner much sympathy that way. Then we get loads of spin and now limiting feedback on the forums. Doing everything wrong

I bet more people would cut them some slack if they didn't treat us like children with their lame excuses. I hate the boss fights in Deus Ex but at least Eidos admitted they messed up and I understand they were forced to release it too soon.

Bioware however tells us we can't accept change like with DA2 or don't understand artistic intergrity like with ME3 even though the ending DLC kind of shows they don't have such integrity.

So censorship should become the norm because you're tired of hearing about "trolls"?

Presumably those who registered the game are still free to post negative opinions so long as its expressed reasonably so how is it censorship? Is it censorship to restrict the spoiler forums and so forth to only those who who register the game as they have done since BSN has been in existence?

If you think Bioware haven't admitted they messed up with DA2 then you haven't been reading the DA2 forum for a long while.

I prefer it this way so sue me, keeps the trolls to minimum. If want a wake up call how a forum is without such moderation go visit the Diablo3 forums where it is a cesspool of bottom feeders. Everyone might have an opinion on something but I would personally prefer the ones who actually own the game and have registered as proof discuss it on the ME3 section while those who do not can discuss it elsewhere on the million other forums and boards and chans on this big wide web, if cannot register yours then do something about it, speak to EA/Bioware and get it registered over the phone or through webchat if can.

:P

I do have the game, I have tried to register it, I have spoken to Chris Priestly but he just says No...I cannot register

Would you be this positive if you were unable to post on the forum?

I understand your frustration. No, that is indeed not reasonable. If you own the game, you should be able to register it.

From the top of the Forum Boards:

The Mass Effect 3 General Discussion forum will require Mass Effect 3 Game Registration to be able to post. If you are having trouble registering your game, contact an EA Game Advisor for assistance.

Hope they can help!

Fine, restricting.

Is it censorship to restrict the spoiler forums and so forth to only those who who register the game as they have done since BSN has been in existence?

No, because you'd still have an area to discuss? Spoiler sections is a completely different beast than shutting out the entire forum and if I need to point that out...

Any reason given why cannot? Code not working? I have some sympathy for ones who cannot get code/register working, which is why said to try to speak to EA and Bioware since like I also said I think ones with the game and should have it registered so can discuss more on that forum. However my sympathy is less for those who do not own the game and want to rant or rave about something they do not have.

If you hate censorship like said on AFWs post which we spoke on, seriously I cannot recommend enough you go spend some time on the Blizzards forums for EU version Diablo 3. That one current has no censorship as it were and within hours I am sure it will change your stance on moderation in general.

To be fair, I think just about anything Bioware could do, even if it's brilliant, would reflect poorly on them and negatively affect their fanbase. It's just the way things are at this point in time.

Perhaps their executives should invest in mice with a right mouse button? That LMB is very unforgiving. They can't seem to stpo hitting it.

I am a console gamer and do not have a home internet connection so my X360 is not connected to Xbox live
so they cannot detect that I have the game and don't care that I bought a new legal copy

I've been on the Diablo 3 forums, it isn't as bad as you seem to think it is. People list complaints with the product they purchased and they (the "haters" and the fans) argue over it, no different than any other forum I've been on. Unless you have a problem with disagreements over products, I don't understand  the problem.

Hell, they have even more severe restrictions than here. The problem being, BSN seems to be filled with knee-jerk reactions instead of restrictions put onto the forums themselves. They change the rules every five seconds and silence everybody else.

Hmm, on one hand I can understand why Bioware's doing this. Restricted access indeed filters out a lot of 'trolls' and spammers. On the other hand it restricts the non-registered users from participating in the on-going discussions. Personally I'm feeling like the forums are becoming just like DLC. 'Buy our game and you're considered worthy of posting in our boards'. It's very easy to interpret this current action of Bioware in this way. Also, Bioware should keep in mind that registered users aren't necessarily 'better' or more positive than non-registered users.

If anyone is believing Dragoonlordz's self-assessment as a mature, reasonable player, perhaps this PM exchange that is occurring between him and me might change that perception. Here it is, unedited, unexpurgated, and very enlightening, I think:

His opening salvo:
If you want to turn it into insults towards me princess I will gladly oblige through PMs, else give it a rest you spoiled little child.

My first rejoinder:
Aw, touch a nerve, did I? I may be spoiled, but I'm no child. What YOU are, however, is a sycophant, and everyone knows it. I'm not even the one who called you out on it. So yeah, if lots of people are saying the same thing about you, it behooves you to ask yourself, "are they right?" FYI, you're the first to characterize me as a "spoiled little child", most people would say "vicious b¡tch". And yeah, they're right, but it's okay, because I like being a vicious b¡tch. Problem?

His first riposte:
Vicious is the wrong term, the correct one is idiotic. Though you can call yourself whatever you want princess. No you did not touch a nerve, I have however offered you the opportunity to take it tvia PM if you wish to attack me like a child and yes a child because that is how you act. If you act like one do not be surprised to be treated like one. Quite honestly I feel sorry for your parents to have such a raised such a spoiled child. Must be quite the burden on them.

My redirect:
You're really not good at this game. It's like improv, you have to work with what you have. I gave you lots of great material, and all you came up with is "nuh-uh!" Shouldn't you be spamming John Epler's posts with comments about how awesome he and BioWare are, instead of wasting my time? P.S.: I think you need to check Webster's, you're not using the words "idiotic" and "childish" correctly. I am actually not acting like a child, per se. Children don't think before they speak. I do. I say mean things, but they're well thought-out mean things. So, boo-yah, as they say.

His next retort:
You might wish to add delusional to your repertoire based on your assessment of yourself. I will give you credit for talking out your arse though, you do it so well and all. Of course cannot be helped, I guess after being dropped on your head as baby so many times you was bound to suffer some mental scars which impaired your ability to see the difference between reality and this world of pure fantasy you have crafted around yourself and your self perceptions.

My last sortie:
You are cracking me up. You're so mad! I love it. Keep 'em coming, you have given me many chortles this day. Tell me more about how awful I am. It's hilarious!
