Yeah it's funny how before ME3 it was all "fans are our co-creators", "We do it for the fans", "You are Shepard" and all that.
Then suddenly afterwards, it's all about them. What they want. Their "art", and why we're too stupid to appreciate it.
It's really disturbing to see such a blatant shift, even for a cynic like me.
Exactly it was funny how before the ending sh*tstorm they were like ohh our fans ar co-creators of the story and nonsense like that, after it became well this our artistic vision of what they want for ME3

Were we ever in control of it in the first place? The game itself had a path we went on while we decided somewhat of where to go first or what we did. While yes, many did not like the final destination they showed us. Hopefully this time around they get it right.yukon fire wrote...

Well to be honest it is their story. They set up the road for us and we merely choose how to go down such road. If they want the end of the road to be such, then let it be. Honestly I have no problem with this.
Personally I don't like it when "my friend" grabs the steering wheel and yanks it sending us off a cliff. Why would I pay him for it? Was he really "my friend"? Would I ever trust him again?
SO yeah, you don't have to pay bioware ver again or trust them again. I personally see no problem with them doing what they want to do as long as they take maybe some of the complaints to heart and try to fix them.
We had control in ME and ME2, Shep was given to us both to shape and control how the story played out. ME3 came along and they took Shep back (heck they didn't even let us have our face) s/he became their way of shaping the story.

Pessimism > Optimism.
Pessimists are either always right, or pleasantly surprised.
Pessimists are a pain in the ass and I hate being around them. Never go to a movie with a pessimist.
That sounds awfully pessimistic.

We've liked Hudson's story for a long time. The ending was less than satisfactory. They've added on to give us what they feel we want.
Let's at least wait the 4 days, play it, and THEN pick it apart and complain. If you thought they were actually going to retcon this and/or adopt a fan theory, then you have issues.

Understandable, the ending did seem to go by to fast and didn't seem as if we were fully controlling shepard. I, however, come to understand that the extended cut is to fix this and show us their vision of how the ending is to play out with it showing how we shaped it due to our choices.yukon fire wrote...

If we are talking about the game in full, well I have to agree and disagree on here. I think the ending showing us our choices would help out with making it seem like we are in control a little bit more.

What choices? The only choice they care about is if you choose to play MP.

Well, MP only mattered if you wanted to have the Shepard lives ending. Other then that, the choices did matter but as points. Hopefully the extended cut actually fixes this problem, along with showing us possible ME2 and ME1 choices or actions.yukon fire wrote...

See here's the thing.
What did BioWare say prior to ME3's release? They said things like "experience a journey where you make all the decisions.", "your choices affect the outcome", "shape your story", etc. etc.
If they're justified in the path they chose for ME3... why weren't they honest about it?
Why did they never say "experience a story laid out by us", or "Mass Effect 3 will guide you through our artistic vision" or whatever.
They lied about it. You know what that implies to me? It implies they knew it was wrong.
Therefore, this whole justification is completely invalid. They are welcome to craft a story where they fully control the character, her or his emotions and the final outcome if that is their wish. But they have no right to then hand it to us under false pretenses.

So MP only mattered if you wanted your avatar of 5 years to live? That's extortion.

Believe me I hate their PR at times as much as anyone. I am able to toss that away if the game I actually have in my hand is good to me. And you know what? The game was one of my favorites except for the ending. I can see very well why everyone is so mad at their PR and how the game ended. Sometimes I wish they had better PR and didn't stretch the truth. However I will still say that I have no problem for them laying out the road like they want it, I just want to be able to see what I did effects the ending. With the extended cut it seems to be exactly the thing I wanted and hopefully something that can appease a lot of long time fans as well. The Angry One wrote...
