Did you let her alive or slayed?
Now that i have killed her for achievements i dont really need anything from him i always left her alive, i simply dont see any reason not to kill her, would i kill her just course she is a dragon? No. Loot is nice but there is lot of gold in this game and armor you can make from scales is not that impressive even superior one.
She also stand guard for sacred ashes so that is only a good thing, little soldiers who dont know how to deal with dragons and wipe is jut hilarious to read at the ending.
High dragon and you

I run at it, cleaving it in twain with my ax screaming bloody murder.
For the GM fire rune, mostly ;-)

It's a dragon. Why wouldn't you kill it?
+70% fire resistance
+2 stamina regeneration
+25 stamina
set: -25% fatigue/ 20% /15%
set: +5 defense
Yeah...that's some really terrible armor. Especially the part about stamina regen and -fatigue. Just terrible.
I always kill the dragon. If I understand the codex correctly she is the reason the age is named Dragon Age and she is the dragon that terrorized villages in Orlais. Killing her is a good thing.
