I'm not sure how I feel about this. On one hand, I'm excited- because it means more Mass Effect. On the other hand, the ending isn't going to change, and I want to brace myself so that I don't end up as upset as I did the first time it ended. how do I prepare? How are you going to prepare? Are trying to not think about it? Prepare for the worst? Psych yourself up? Do a lot of drinking?

I'm keeping my moral up by the idea that it would be suicide for Bioware to screw up their second chance and buying loads of Cherry Coke before hand.

I need my Cherry Coke if this is going to end up breaking my soul again.

Not giving a **** as I did when I watched the ending the first eight times.

Also, Dawnguard will take priority.

Don't prepare, play it through, check it out at face value.
Either you like it or you don't.

Liking it could meen it's a small improvement, or that it's a major improvement or that it's perfect.

I don't belive in true perfection but it's a good goal none the less.

Then only way it could be worse is if you had special expectations or requierments, or if BW actualy did something so bad that  I find it hard to imagine.

I am going to continue my fourth playthrough, spend time with my family, go to work, and download and see on tuesday, this is not the end of the world if EC is not what we expect, there are bigger problems than a video game, though i am on here for the same reasons you guys are, i would like a better ending, but it will not be the end of the world if bioware kindly tells to stfu

As I wait for the 2GB download I'll scan the front page of the forums and see if the feedback is positive or negative and set my expectations accordingly.

I'll be fully equipped:

full bottle of kettle one vodka

a 20 dollar bill ready to cram down bethesda's throat for Dawnguard

a viking funeral arrangement in my backyard for the mass effect series

That's a good idea. I definetly think I'll look for input before playing so I know what to expect. I had no idea what to expect the first time I played.. I didn't even know about the ending controversy.. I wish I did.. I wouldn't have been as bummed.

Yeah Dawnguard will probably win out for me on this one. I'm trying to be optimistic but if the EC doesn't really explain all the plot holes/give a good story conclusion/ect then I might be done with the series since the replay value will officially be dead. It really sucks because Mass Effect was my favorite game series of all time.

Prepare myself emotionally?

Prepare popcorn for reading the inevitable "IT is really still true" threads?

This, my exact thoughts.
I especially don't care now that they are leaving IT still up for grabs. I really wanted them to outright deny it and lie and say it was the plan all along.

Going to hope for the best with the understanding that I'm still going to be disgusted.

The problem is that there's no sense of victory in ME3s ending. Doesn't look like that's changing.

So, if Shepard can't win he damn well better survive.

If not, the EC is a complete failure and this forum deserves to go nuclear.

I'm not going to be able to play until next weekend, so I will have to go cold turkey from BSN and anything ME related on the internet.

I think that's a bad idea. If someone tells you it's bad then you will hate it no matter what.. Better to go in there without peer pressure to feel one way or another.

If you're hoping to get a positive experience in reallife, then do you check in with the ever depressed crowd first? :P
Some peopel will always be negative, the IT peple have set them up for dissapointment no matter what hapens. So it's probably best to experience the EC with our own eyes first. That way judgement will be your own. That way you stand a chance of not getting dissapointed from the get go and miss something.

Emotionally... I'm going to burn myself in the ass with a red hot poker until tears are streaming from my eyes to simulate the actual emotions I am going to experience.

There were 10 or 12 of us on break at work talking about this earlier out in the smokeshack. The whole time they kept saying "We're listening! We're listening! We're collecting feedback and blahblahblahblah." But it appears they haven't heard a single thing that anyone has said. We've all agreed that Bioware has gone ******-up since being aquired by EA.

You really should check it out yourself, before reading what others thought.

It all makes sense now!

Bioware is releasing the extended cut on the same day as Dawnguard because they know there's a high chance of mass disappointment but with Dawnguard there they'll at least have a few days of preparation for the coming ****storm
