It all makes sense now!

Bioware is releasing the extended cut on the same day as Dawnguard because they know there's a high chance of mass disappointment but with Dawnguard there they'll at least have a few days of preparation for the coming ****storm

LOL in BioWare's minds it's the total opposite man!

I'll download and play the EC when it's released, won't read the forums for anyone's feedback on it until I finish it, just as I did with my first playthrough. Determining on my own that the original ending was terrible was better than reading people saying "hey, the ending sucks" and deciding "Ok, the ending will be terrible". *shrug*

Hopefully the EC won't be a disappointment, but I'm not going to anticipate one way or the other.

I am tempted to record my reaction this time. The first time I played I looked like this. And I wish I'd documented it. www.youtube.com/watch

I've got my bottle of cheap wine and tub of vanilla gelato and maybe a Garrus body-pillow to cry into to get me through the day if all this EC business goes belly-up.

Might need a harder drink if my squad does end up starting an incestual harem on the jungle planet :?

I don't think there's any way to prepare.

You're just going to have to do it and get it over with.

If it hurts, it hurts. Not much you can do about it.

I'm utterly convinced that this is going to happen now.

You'd better stock up.

You know... I skipped 99% of the side quests, got high enough EMS because I played multiplayer, and got Ending A, B, C, which completely doesn't make sense as it was something like 95% similar.

It's always either Shephard gets toasted, cooked, or destroyed with a breathing scene. From what I heard, EDI survives all the time even with the destruction, only Geth dies with destruction and various etc stuff.

1-2 months after that, Bioware says they will never be changing the endings, so I guess that's the end of my faith in Bioware as a company that builds games for gamers, but for themselves. As for as I am concerned the EC is nothing but a tool to placate the media s***storm they build for themselves.

They might be able to dig themselves out barely with it, but there are a great number of ways and endings that would have made it "artistic" if they spend another 3 months fixing the endings they promised, and therefore, I will never see ME series as a game that is great but only as a better than average game who wants to squeeze money from fans (no, I have not forgotten day 1 DLC.).

I guess that's a "company" for you, where goals are about money and their egos.

Well, I'll watch it... and then see how quickly I can chug the bottle of vodka I have sitting here; preferably before I've had a chance to actually react to the EC. Because that way, if it pisses me off so much that I end up chucking said bottle across the room, at least it will already be empty, and I'll only have to clean up broken glass. (That is, assuming it doesn't end up going towards my monitor...)

I got hurt once.....

This time, I will be void of emotion while ''watching'' the extended cut. That doesn't mean it won't be sad to see the final nail being put into the coffin of the once loved Mass Effect universe....murdered within the highest point of it's timeline......

Nothing to prepare mentally for. Either EC is passable enough for me to say ok interesting. Or, it cuts the final thread attaching me to this series. Either way I'm ready for a conclusion to this chapter in my gaming life.

I'm pissed I have to watch my awesome FemShep explode in a stupid fireball all over again.

Let alone that I have to replay the POS known as Priority: Earth.

That's asking a lot for likely very little gain.

I'm seriously considering this. Although... I can't really handle alcohol that well so I may just have some wine or a couple margaritas and that'll be enough for me.

Or just all of my furniture and appliances be modelled after Mass Effect characters? Even better

Im getting my new insanity save created with my shepards imported face (as opposed to my recreation due to the import bug) right to the Cerberus base mission. Just finished Tuchanka arc today, so my ME3 experience will be fresh.

Hour or so before release, i intend to boot up old ME1 and ME2 saves just for nostalgia. Re-experience some of the dialogue and events. I have an ME1 save right before i started the Liara romance that i kept through all 3 games. May go through the cringe-worthy start up of that relationship again, for old times sake. Immerse myself in the Mass Effect legacy for a bit.

When EC hits, i play my file from Cerberus base right to the new end. I am hoping my hour of nostalgia will help me re-capture the emotion i felt during the last act of ME3 before those last 5 minutes. I would like to bring myself back to that state, and this time not have it torn to pieces.

Probably won't work.

I'm pretty much coming to the table with the mentality that if it sucks, I'll be no worse off than I was to begin with. If it's good, it might be a more satisfactory conclusion to the trilogy. I can accept the endings as is, and I doubt the EC will be any worse. The simple fact that they'll show more of how your decision affects the galaxy is a good thing.
