I will always have faith in Casey Hudson. Why? Two words. JADE. EMPIRE. Boom. Even if he makes a thousand pieces of crap, he still made Jade Empire. And that game is glorious.

In other words, if your main problems with the ending were the Starchild and the insipid way the Crucible ending up working, before Tuesday you should come to grips with the fact that these things are still in the game and in all likelihood will be the same on Tuesday as they were in March.
And honestly...there's not much more to it than that.
I'm always quite shocked to hear the "needed more closure" angle, when a sizable percentage of people have already said they'd have been happy with Anderson and Shepard watching the Citadel opening up, and then the Crucible firing. We'd have been happy with less content.
I want to say that I'll be happy, but I'm not expecting to be anything less than heartbroken.

so true. The only thing I'm a little bit hopeful for now is figuring out how my love interest ends up. If the ending sucks that bad I will force myself to never play the game again and avoid further dissapointement, or ignore the fail ending and go with the indoctrination theory to imagine my own real one. This is the first time I've given the indoctrination theory a single thought... no because I think it's true but because I need comfort.

I should add, btw, that if you don't like Synthesis and find it morally repugnant, be prepared for many scenes showing how happy and wonderful things are once life has been Synthesized. If that is meant to be the best ending, and BioWare was shocked that so many people were horrified at it, it stands to reason that we're gonna get cinematics explaining why Synthesis is GOOD.

Most of the Jade team is on the Dragon Age team. Kevin Martens (lead designer) works for Blizzard now. Mark Darrah (lead programmer) is the producer of the DA franchise. Mike Laidlaw (co-lead writer) is now the creative director for the DA franchise. Luke Kristjanson (co-lead writer) is now a senior writer on the DA team (he's actually written for every BioWare game ever made, up to ME2, when he moved to the DA team exclusively, which is why he's the Senior™ senior writer). Matt Goldman was the lead artist and moved into the same role on the DA team (for DA2). Georg Zoeller was the lead systems designer, and now he works on TOR.
I believe Drew and Mac did write for JE, but I don't remember Casey being credited with any work for it. Did I miss him somewhere?

I think I'm going to print this out and tape it to my ME3 collector's edition for future reference.

I'm pretty much resigned to it already, although I'm surprised at just how much fear and dread I'm feeling, considering I accepted months ago that nothing was really going to be fixed, and most likely it would jut give more of the unimaginably moronic bad writing I hated with every fibre of my being.
Also the thought that at least I'll not have to waste money on anymore Bioware games, then I'll play one of the games I've bought and not got around to finishing, I know I'll at least have that small comfort.
Of course it could be good enough to make the games no longer completely unenjoyable, but I don't believe it considering the total, unequivocal refusal of anyone invilved to admit they screwed up, or even acknowledge there are parts of the endings that the majority of their fans, and likely the mAjority of the small percentage of players that actually finished the game, completely hate.
Yeah, Gin and tonic will definitely be required as preparation for me.

Expecting the worst is going to be presented anyway.
Going to look into returning the game. The thought of getting my money back will help.

Even if he did, I can't see how that compensates for this situation.
As to the OP. I probably won't do anything to prepare. It's what I'll do after that matters.

But if Jade Empire does override all concerns, that person should be playing Diablo III (Kevin is lead content designer) and waiting for the next Dragon Age game, not excusing the ME3 ending (unless Casey did do something that I somehow forgot). Credit where it's due!
It's still in. Hackett orders the fleet to some "rendezvous point", because protecting the Crucible apparently no longer matters once it's hooked up.GreenDragon37 wrote...
I have no hope nor optimism. Not getting hurt again. However if that scene with the Normandy is still in... I am going to rage! It's just like ripping off a band-aid; you just have to get it over with.
The Normandy will disengage and fly away and crash on the random jungle planet, and the crew will be stranded there and will never be rescued.

expecting that most of biowares work will have gone into the systsis route as that seems to be their favoured ending
