It's their life, if they want to boycott, they will. We can't force them to change, even less try to questioning them ranting and saying absolutes.

Yeah exactly, if we want better and more innovative games in the future we schould not boycott the few developers that still makes interesting games.
If you are looking for innovative and interesting games, it's best you take a look at other developers. I liked ME3 (apart from the ending), but it's clear BioWare/EA are trying to cater to a larger crowd with each release. Sadly, they think they need to make their games just like every other big budget shooter out there to do so. So basically, your point is moot.

I agree with this to some degree. It makes you wish that me1 sold more units than it did. Maybe the best solution to all this would be if we all bought 10 copies of me1:) Probably wouldnt matter anyway though, as the whole industry is very much different today than in 2007.

Banner Saga
Shadowrun Returns
Or play the games that came years ago
Neverwinter Nights still has hundreds of good modules that I haven't played
I can even save the money for new PCs.

Just a question to all u people that say that u are not going to buy bioware-games in the future. What games are u going to play then? Call of duty 7? Battlefield 4? Assasins creed 6? Even though you may say that everything is EA's fault, the whole industry is actually going downhill rapidly. And as it stands bioware is almost the only developer left that makes interesting AAA titles that are not military shooters or sequels that are similar to the games before. And even though the storywriting and the dialogue in me3 are not perfect it is still far superior to everything in the industry.
It depends on whether EC is going to pass or fail. BW's morphing into a plain nutty cookie so I'll just look in other directions for better flavors. The upcoming Lara Croft for one, Thief 4, etc.

Well every body is entitled to his or her opinion. But they are other games that are not BW/EA or COD, new and older games that are very interesting at least for me (on PS3 or PC)
-Heavy Rain
-Witcher 2
-Ghost Recon
- Fallout III/New Vegas
-Journey (yeap don't laught, it's a small game but I enjoyed it really and replayed it several times)
-Even Uncharted serie and Assassin Creed
And they are a some upcoming games (soon or in a far distant future ...):
- Beyond : Two Souls (Same companie that made Heavy rain)
- Watch Dog (Ubi)
- etc ....

* I will be less prone to pre-order an BioWare game
* I will be less prone to buy DLC by BioWare
* I will be more likely to wait for the game prices to fall before I buy a game from BioWare
Buying a BioWare used to be pretty much a no-brainer for me, but now I'm going to be more careful in the future.
I wouldn't say the whole industry is going downhill, there are still a few decent companies (mainly indie devs) that are creating innovative games. Now there's also the Kickstarter "movement", now there's something I think will give us games like they used to be; for gamers, by gamers. Not saying BioWare is all corporate, but it's starting show through the small cracks.
And, buying generic games can as easily send another message: "Our generic games are selling well, let's make even more generic games!". So support the games & companies you think are actually being innovative right now.

[Insert Cartman voice]: No but seriousely.[/Cartman voice] I'm not pre-ordering anything they do and will wait for fanbase reactions on their future releases.
What am I going to play? Three titles I'm looking forward to:
- Watch Dogs
- Cyberpunk
- X-com: Enemy Unknown

'You' not 'u'! It's two letters why is it so hard to use them?
Anyway what is this crap I'm reading? Because I'm boycotting EA games I'm going to buy CoD? WTF. Oh and CoD 7 is called Black Ops by the way.
Also Bethesda, Valve, CD Projekt, 2K Games and Obsidian. Just off the top of my head some good developers. Better than same game every year Activision and EA.
Finally this quote:"And even though the storywriting and the dialogue in me3 are not perfect it is still far superior to everything in the industry."
....No, OP. Just no.

That pretty much sums it up for me. I am not boycotting EA. I am just no longer pre-ordering games or buying them the minute they come out. In short, I am going to treat gaming purchases, like I would any other kind. In the past, I didn't feel the need to "kick" BW's tires.....that is no longer the case for me, but if they produce a great game, I'll be all over it.Robhuzz wrote...
Boycotting BioWare isn't necessary at all. The only thing people have to do is stop buying from hype or marketing. DO NOT buy games in the first day or week but wait until honest reviews are out (serious fan reviews) that tell you what the game is REALLY like. If it's not the quality that was promised, don't buy it. This is a very simple concept that, if done by lots of people, stops corporations from rushing games and making false promises. Because right now by the time people find out they have been cheated, millions of people have already pre ordered or bought the game on the first day, the developer and publisher already have the money...

because of rising consumer expectations it makes it more difficult for games to turn a profit compared to how much they cost, games cost easily 40-70 mil for the most basic hardcore game. in order to be able to mitigate this risk publishers need to stick to what they know sells.
if you want this to change, buy more games, and buy them new.
This has to be a joke.
Witcher 2's cost was 14 mil I believe, which already included the advertising cost.
Maybe ... EA had to spend far more on ads, PR and bribing critics?

I've never played CoD or Battlefield, and I happen to like the Assassin's Creed series thank you very much, but these are just a very fractional part of the overall gaming library and I don't know why people get so hung up on hating these franchises in particular. My personal library of games is vastly different and there are still quite a few games left on my backlog that I haven't got around to yet. In short, there's a lot of great stuff out there and sometimes I have trouble keeping up.
Based on how they've been acting lately, if I do decide to give up on EA/Bioware, I will be doing myself a favor and they will not be missed.

I won't boycott Bioware ever. But like always, I'll buy it if it's good. I mean - is there really any other way to be a consumer? Why buy crap? Just buy the things that are good, at to hell with WHO made it.

Yeye for me at least, very few game that have been released in the past months and years come close to the atmosphere, the gameplay and the writing in the ME games. I own both ps3 and xbox and many major games from the likes of bethesda, valve etc, 2k games. That said, i have not played all games and I need to play the witcher 1 and 2.
However maybe we can agree on that the writing and the story in the ME games (even me3) are far better than in bethesdas games such as skyrim at least
