Games to play instead of ME3?

Skyrim, Borderlands 2, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, Assassin's Creed III and so on.

The gaming industry doesn't revolve around BioWare.

This.

I like Bioware for what they have done (DAO, ME) but regardless of how good they are at story/characterisation if they continue to make games which are progressively linear, then i wont buy them, simple. Its not a matter of Boycotting but rather i will not buy what isn't to my tastes. Other developers may not have the same calibre of story/character creativity (i.e. bethesda) but they offer other features i like such as exploration.

So, what you're saying is that Bioware is the only good game developer? Pfft AHAHAHAHaHA! I'm sorry for that outburst. And since when are military FPSs the only games being made?

I am sitting on the fence regarding any personal boycot.  I have seen the ME trilogy through till now and will await the EC next week and any subsequent DLC before making a decision, only because I want to complete this story and be done with it.

That being said, for me it's not so much game content or quality or writing that I am concerned about.  It is Bioware's complete disregard for it's customers.  We were lied to and belittled by Hudson, Walters et al.  And then we find out yesterday from Priestly that Bioware had chosen to reward certain players for their choice of game play while other players were not allowed certain results.  This is a real kick in the teeth to alot of faithful, loyal fans and it stinks.

If I do boycot, it will be for that reason.

Yes, OP's quite right in that we should just eat the **** and be glad that we get to eat **** at all. Even if you were right and there are no other games worth playing out there at all (Skyrim's pretty decent, TF2 is fun and yes, I play some CoD too), you'd still be wrong.

It's my money. I will not spend it on a bad product. Try leaving your parent's home now and then; you'll find that there's way more stuff to be done than you have time for.

CDPR, Bethesda, Independent Developers create better games than most AAA companies, Naughty Dog, Quantic Dream.

Want me to keep going?

Just a question to all u people that say that u are not going to buy bioware-games in the future. What games are u going to play then? Call of duty 7? Battlefield 4? Assasins creed 6? Even though you may say that everything is EA's fault, the whole industry is actually going downhill rapidly. And as it stands bioware is almost the only developer left that makes interesting AAA titles that are not military shooters or sequels that are similar to the games before. And even though the storywriting and the dialogue in me3 are not perfect it is still far superior to everything in the industry.

There will be others. There always will be others. And given the fact how the whole priority earth fells like an unispired CoD clone...

I won't boycott, I like Bioware games, why would I?

I buy games that I think look good, don't particularly care which company makes them tbh, if they look good then they get my money, simple.

Biowares reputation for excellent games took a huge hit with Dragon Age 2. And another with SWTOR. And a 3rd when they released a super linear and uninspired Mass Effect 3.

There are plenty of other games and gaming studios out there to choose from.

Also, ME3 did not have a storyline above and beyond all other games. It was the worst of the series. Mass Effect 3 was another Dragon Age 2.

This year I will buy Darksiders 2.

Next year Gears of War: Judgment.

And that's pretty much going to be it.

Twilight? I dobut that is art. To me, Twilight is more like a product aim for teenager. I am glad Bethesda admit the mistake. No company will not make mistake. The only difference is that company will admit and correct it or not. Obviously, Bioware is the latter one. Art is given by people not the producer.

Whether we like it or not Twilight is treated as art epscially when its a novel and movie series.  Yet you can still say the same thing about Betheseda like Bortherhood of Steel.  Art can be done for individuals and groups of people while ME is for the people not for the indviduals just like most games and other mediums do.  Btw an artist produces art, which contradicts your stance.

Yes, artist produces art. However, Bioware is a company, which purpose of existence is maximization of profit, i.e. Bioware will do anything to make money. To Bioware, ME3 is just buiness and noting more.

Lol, there are a lot of games I prefer to the Mass Effect series so if this does flop and I don't end up buying anymore Bioware games, I won't be missing much. Of course this is my personal preference and it definitely won't be the same as other peoples.

The Witcher 3 and the upcoming new IP from CDPR. Last of us, Watch Dogs.

Games I am right now, Warriors Orochi 3, The Witcher 2, BF3 for multiplayer, Skyrim, and Max Payne 3.
Yup doing just fine without ME3 only waiting for the EC and if that fails, no more from Bioware.

Hey now, just because Bioware outright lied to us about ME3 and is now controlled by EA, who has and continues to destroy virtually much every game series they sink their teeth into does in no way justify withholding your cash from them in the future! Oh wait......it is.

Nevermind. :)

For me its pretty simple - I loved how Bioware implemented the RPG in ME1 - ME2 and 3 never really lived up to the promise - if BW makes another great game they have my money, if not, I hope some one else will

I loved every second of every minute of all the Mass Effect games. EXCEPT the ending of ME3. But everything else was an exhilarating experience. I love being FemShepard. I don't hate Bioware or EA. I'm just baffled, perturbed, and upset by the end-game of ME3.

:) Hog wash and fiddle sticks there are plenty of awesome devs out there to replace bioware if I wanted or needed to. Ubisoft has like 6 to 7 games in the next year I want. Sony has a few amazing games. Microsoft looks to be doing amazingly well with Halo 4 in improving the story. Bethesda isnt my cup of tea but they are just as good as bioware in many respects. :)

That's a pretty easy question to answer. TF2, Dota 2, X-COM (the old one), and an assortment of RPGs that are better than what Bioware churns out these days (Witcher games, New Vegas, older games like PS:T and Arcanum).
