Even the ending of RAGE didn't upset me as much as ME3's did....

Because you weren't as emotionally invested in RAGE? It seems to me that the biggest reason for all this rage is because we loved all the games and the ending just blew it. It isn't as bad to people who weren't that into it. But for those who were... well you know.

I'm not boycotting them, I'm just going to be more careful with what products I buy in the future, And how My money will be spent. There were other Games I wanted to Pre-Order ( Max Payne 3) but i did not have enough to buy both Mass Effect 3 and Max Payne 3. I should have reversed it and bought Max first and waited for Mass Effect.Oh well !! live an learn i guess......

Nope. I was planning to buy Max P3 (new not used) but talked with some vendor in a EB Game shop (GS) and surprisingly he told me that I should wait that Max P3 used game be at 19$ before buying it .. Well ... I should have done the same with ME3 instead of pre-ordering it ...

@ OP. I only buy about 3 games a year because I don't have all the time in the world to play games and when I do play games I expect them to be of the highest standard. At the moment I really enjoy what cd projekt is offering.

Besides been let down by ME3, I was also put off BW by all the PR hype and misleading interviews that preceded ME3 & DA2. For now I have stopped buying EA games and for me in my situation there is still plenty out there to keep me busy. I still haven't even had time to play arkham city yet!!!!

I never wanted it to come to this, but I think my days of purchasing Bioware games are gone. They haven't made a game I liked and supported since, well, Dragon Age Origins. Anyways, here are a few games off the top of my head that I will likely enjoy more than Bioware's recent releases -
  • The Cave
  • Watchdog
  • CDPR's "Cyberpunk"
  • Dishonored
  • Halo 4
  • War of the Roses
  • Last of Us
  • Star Wars 1313

Personally I don't plan to boycott anything, but ME3 is the last time I buy a Bioware game new/at full price until my faith in them to deliver a complete non MP/DLC/Extended Cut story out of the box is restored.

OP, you made me question myself... my whole worldview is not put to a test... oh my, I had more fun with Battlefield Bad Company 2 than I had with Mass Effect 2... and more fun with Battlefield 3 than with Mass Effect 3... oh my god! I had more fun playing any Assassin's Creed game than Dragon Age 2! Jesus! What's wrong with me!?
Also, I'm going to play GTA5.

Because Rockstar never once disappointed me and because I enjoy killing virtual pedestrians. And they do write better stories than BioWare.

Slap yourself son! Stop posting on this silly forum and go play that game!

I've never boycotted any company unless they were using child labour, illegal components or caused deaths.

I won't boycott Bioware ever. But like always, I'll buy it if it's good. I mean - is there really any other way to be a consumer? Why buy crap? Just buy the things that are good, at to hell with WHO made it.

Exactly.

Personally, I won't be boycotting Bioware but it definitely won't be on my watch list.Dragon Age series, SWTOR, and ME3 were all mediocre at best to me. I only enjoyed KOTOR, Jade Empire, and ME1/2. I'm much more interested in Tomb Raider, Last of Us, Watchdogs, and Sleeping Dogs.

The X-Com FPS isn't a sequel. CnC Renegade is a spin-off. Front Mission: Evolved is also a spin-off. All of the SC games have been Action/Stealth hybrids, and Conviction is no exception.

X-Com is having a FPS game based in the 1940s to 1950s.  Renegade is part of the CnC and its part of the original CnC series.  Front Mission : Evolved is actually part of the storyline of its tactical RPG predessors.  Splinter Cell was pure stealth until Double Agent, which caused Conviction means it was the exception since it literally broke the SC mold.  I could also add the Space Marines with a few other series involved with Wahammer.  Hitman : Absolution is looking into a stealth action hybrid.  The latest Gundam games have been Dynasty Warrior games.  I can still go on and on with examples based on how the Gaming Industry are still evolving their IPs.

no, saying stuff without explaining it or backing it up doesn't make it a fact. It might be your Opinion, but that's about it. Though i would really like to know what elevated ME3 to an ActionRPG, while leaving ME2 as the lone Shooter.

Yet you're also relying on opinion as well.   There are a lot of changes between ME2 to ME3 with the RPG elements like evolving powers, weapon modifers with upgrades, weapon upgrades, more diverse armor stats, additional classes/powers/gear, and an easier power/stat overhaul system.

Games to play instead of ME3?

Skyrim, Borderlands 2, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, Assassin's Creed III and so on.

The gaming industry doesn't revolve around BioWare.

I'm surprised that a lot of haters act as if Bioware is the only major game developer around especially when it comes down to RPGs.

MattFini wrote...

If the EC is a total failure, I am done with ME3 completely.

But I won't be foolish enough to say "never again, BioWare" - I'll just wait and see what the BSN says about any future game before buying.

And no, I don't play COD, Battlefield or anything else anymore.  I just play less games is all.

You shouldn't say never again because some people said that with L4D2 before its release and look what happened.  You can say that you can change your mind, but never say never.

Yes, artist produces art. However, Bioware is a company, which purpose of existence is maximization of profit, i.e. Bioware will do anything to make money. To Bioware, ME3 is just buiness and noting more.

So what if Bioware is a company or not since most of the art is owned by a company like in novels, comics, music, movies, tv shows, and games.   Btw everyone is out for profits especially when you but millions of dollars into something like a novel, comic, song, movie, show, or game.  Like I said previously ME3 is art whether you like it or not.  I hate the majority of rap music and hate everything Twilight while you won't hear me say that they aren't art.

May I ask where did you here that the next CDPR game was going to be cyber punk, I read somewhere that it was going to be sci-fi. But but are cool themes.

It hit the news shelves like 2- 3 weeks and the 1st reprt that I got was from Machinima's IGD.

Bethesda and Valve both still make good games, or at least they've never outright spat in my face and refused to acknowledge that they did anything wrong. There are also plenty of old games that I haven't played yet.

Boycotting doesn't solve anything especially when you will break that promise.  I'm not a fan of EA while I normally wait until one of the games that I waited hit are about $20 used or new.

The invested time is a bad reason to get angry about based on how an Action RPG like ME hasn't been do like this before and no matter what some people were going to be mad about an ending to a trilogy in any medium.

Just a question to all u people that say that u are not going to buy bioware-games in the future. What games are u going to play then? Call of duty 7? Battlefield 4? Assasins creed 6? Even though you may say that everything is EA's fault, the whole industry is actually going downhill rapidly. And as it stands bioware is one of the few developers left that makes interesting AAA titles that are not military shooters or sequels that are similar to the games before. Even though the storywriting and the dialogue in me3 are not perfect it is still far superior to almost everything in the industry.

Bioware's reputation hangs on a thread. If EC pleasesthe majority of ME fans then people will trust them more and there's a good chance they'll buy more Bioware games.

If EC does not come up trumps then Bioware is done. People will always remember them as EA sellouts. So i guess we'll just have to wait until June 26th to find out if faith gets restored or the company plumets like EA's stocks right now.

Boycotting/not buying or preordering is the ONLY way to make any difference . U gotta hit em in the wallet or they will not listen. Period. i have not purchased a new EA or BioWare game since i put the control down after the debacle that was the end of ME3 and i wont and u can take that to the bank bub. IF an EA game ever interests me again i shall buy it USED so GameStop gets the money not EA or BW or ill borrow it from a friend.
ITs really easy to do u just look at the game put it bak down wait a week or 2 and buy it used, viola.

It's their loss, say what you will about the ending but  Bioware did create a series where we actually cared about how it ended.

Speaking of which, have you beat Max Payne 3? I just started playing it the other day (and loving it!) as a refreshment from ME3's bad aftertaste, but if that EB vendor was hinting at Payne's story being just as bad then I want to prepare myself........

I'll be playing Borderlands 2 which is looking amazing along with Assassins Creed 3. The things they've done with that game in 3 years is amazing. Then next year there's Bioshock: Infinite, DMC and South Park all before March.

Assassin's Creed 6?
Well actually it's 3,
But let's ignore that if we're going by Games in the Actual Series it'd be Assassin's Creed 5
Although I'm not boycotting Bioware, I just wanted to Bring up how you can't count.
(Assassin's Creed, AC 2, AC Brotherhood, AC Revelations, then +AC3 and you have 5)
(Also Screw you Assassin's Creed is awesome)

I'm not going to boycott Bioware games in the future but they have lost the "buy without question" mentality I used to have about their games.

The advice of Robhuzz about is what I was going to do anyway but they are wise words indeed.

This

Say hello to the used section Bioware, cause thats where I'm getting your games from now ;)

qouted for truth! its just that simple. wait for review and mabey buy at half price later on if review is good.

but if this microstransition variant of games is biowares new direction I will never buy a game of them again
i dont support greed. and i dont support unfinished games or games were i have to Pay to unlock items in it.
