The X-Com FPS isn't a sequel. CnC Renegade is a spin-off. Front Mission: Evolved is also a spin-off. All of the SC games have been Action/Stealth hybrids, and Conviction is no exception.
X-Com is having a FPS game based in the 1940s to 1950s. Renegade is part of the CnC and its part of the original CnC series. Front Mission : Evolved is actually part of the storyline of its tactical RPG predessors. Splinter Cell was pure stealth until Double Agent, which caused Conviction means it was the exception since it literally broke the SC mold. I could also add the Space Marines with a few other series involved with Wahammer. Hitman : Absolution is looking into a stealth action hybrid. The latest Gundam games have been Dynasty Warrior games. I can still go on and on with examples based on how the Gaming Industry are still evolving their IPs.

no, saying stuff without explaining it or backing it up doesn't make it a fact. It might be your Opinion, but that's about it. Though i would really like to know what elevated ME3 to an ActionRPG, while leaving ME2 as the lone Shooter.
Yet you're also relying on opinion as well. There are a lot of changes between ME2 to ME3 with the RPG elements like evolving powers, weapon modifers with upgrades, weapon upgrades, more diverse armor stats, additional classes/powers/gear, and an easier power/stat overhaul system.

Games to play instead of ME3?
Skyrim, Borderlands 2, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, Assassin's Creed III and so on.
The gaming industry doesn't revolve around BioWare.
I'm surprised that a lot of haters act as if Bioware is the only major game developer around especially when it comes down to RPGs.

If the EC is a total failure, I am done with ME3 completely.
But I won't be foolish enough to say "never again, BioWare" - I'll just wait and see what the BSN says about any future game before buying.
And no, I don't play COD, Battlefield or anything else anymore. I just play less games is all.
You shouldn't say never again because some people said that with L4D2 before its release and look what happened. You can say that you can change your mind, but never say never.

Yes, artist produces art. However, Bioware is a company, which purpose of existence is maximization of profit, i.e. Bioware will do anything to make money. To Bioware, ME3 is just buiness and noting more.
So what if Bioware is a company or not since most of the art is owned by a company like in novels, comics, music, movies, tv shows, and games. Btw everyone is out for profits especially when you but millions of dollars into something like a novel, comic, song, movie, show, or game. Like I said previously ME3 is art whether you like it or not. I hate the majority of rap music and hate everything Twilight while you won't hear me say that they aren't art.
