What WOULD make you happy with this EC?

The problem is with your question, OP. Not a criticism, it's just that there's many ways to answer it. The first involves what I had hoped the EC would be and that's not happening. I would only be happy if it had been what it should have been, not some arbitrary, trumped up ambiguous ball of endings to other stories. The star kid-gone or at the very least replaced by Harbinger or Sovereign's twin brother. War assets, Shepard, team, in fight with reapers-real fights, not gun and run and the inevitable out of place turret. There would be Cains for everyone-that had been developed instead of the MacGuffin Crucible of mystery. Or the Crucible at least really would be an actual weapon of some type, not the Swiss Army Knife of magic.

The freaking choices would not exist and outcomes and story lines would evolve naturally from previous choices made or others would present themselves to Shepard-not Hackett.

However, since none of this is to be, happy won't happen. Even satisfaction is hard to come by, because that would involve a shot from a Cain to the kid and the whole Citadel/Crucible mess.

So, what would remove this disgust I have for the ending and thus the game and the series and the ME name (something I loved)? The only thing would be the insertion of something that would keep it from being as meaningless as it is. Destroy that as irrational as it would be would only destroy the reapers, with a chance for Shepard to really live and reunions with friends that survived and an epilogue with love interest.

Beyond that, while I'd really wish that synthesis and control were gone (since they're stupid and abhorrent as well as is genocidal destroy). But, if they have to be there then some explanation as to their implementation and effects as well as how and why they could be achieved.

Above all, my real wish if the kid must be there would be that instead of some trumped up unbelievable, "I'm here to save you by killing you" reason, I'd rather he was more honestly antagonistic like Sovereign. They used the kid for some made up reason to explain the reapers, as if we needed that explanation, but they opened up this whole issue of not being able to explain the kid. Not that I want to know him any better. But at least have him make some sense or have Shepard react and really protest his garbage. And if picking destroy, have the kid protest against it. Some emotion somewhere that shows somebody cares about these freaking decisions.

I know nothing I really want is going to happen, so....

I want what I always wanted. When the smoke clears, and all is said and done, Shepard emerges from the wreckage, victorious. Just like the last two games.

Shepard saying over the radio in the rubble, "Is it over?". That way not only does Shepard live, it leaves the door open to continuing my adventures with the Mass Effect world. Don't care if they say it's only a trilogy, as that's what they said about Gears of War. That would be my happy ending. The rest won't be addressed in this game anyway. Maybe Mass Effect 3.5? We are talking wishes here. On second thought screw Mass Effect I want the winning Powerball numbers.

I would like control be explained better, what the hell would happen to Shepard, and I will be able to do what the hell I want with the reapers, protecting the galaxy. Also help if I will know what happened to the galaxy and the people in it, and Shepard's friends.

It would be a big bonus for me if I will see Shepard is the new catalyst (staying with his/her personality), and can say goodbye to LI (Yeah I love cliches sometimes).

Personally, the only thing that would really make me happy is if they found a way to get rid of the StarKid, or at the very least take out his explenation of the Reaper purpose. That, more than anything, killed the series for me

Pretty much anything else they could do would be an improvement, but I still wouldn't be "happy"

For me personally, the options to kill the reapers without killing all synthetics, epilogue to show us the consequences of out actions/choices and what happened to the characters (which we are getting apparently), calling the catalyst on his BS. Removing the crash landing and Joker running away scene cause it makes no sense in the context of the scenario, I really don't see how it's possible to explain it in way that's satisfactory. Even adding a scene where Hackett tells him to run would make little sense. This is the final battle we win here or die trying, running is pointless and Hackett has mentioned this.

Honestly I'm at a point where I don't really even care about the relays exploding, if bioware wants to retacon how important they are fine whatever, just give me an ending that's narrativly coherent and makes some sense.

A fourth option to recognize that the Crucible is basically a trap that plays into the Catalyst's hands, to reject the Catalyst's phony paradigm, and then defeat the Reapers conventionally based on everything you've built and accomplished previously, with the opportunity to receive a golden ending if you've played well and thoroughly enough.

It's not going to happen, though, which is why I won't even waste my time downloading it.  I'll probably Youtube the highlights out of morbid curiosity, the same way I Youtubed what happens if you completely F up the Rannoch mission, but I'm done playing ME.

Depending on how far you stretch the term "happy", I'd be "happy" as long as Shepard and his Normandy crew reunite properly. I quite frankly don't care about the rest anymore.

Shepard alive (destroy only of course) and reunited with squad. At least, that's all that I'll let myself hope for given what we've been told.

Nothing, at best it's going to be "meh" for me. Only a complete rewrite of everything after the cerberus station could make me happy.

Shepard reunion with LI and Crew, i came to accept the ending for what it is and Bioware not going to fix crap, so having my Shepard reunion with Tali and crew will at least satisfy me with this crap ending so be it. High EMS in Destroy should let Geth and EDI survive as well.

Clarification and varied outcomes based on choices.

If they pull that off I'll be content. Killing off starbrat can't hurt though

Happy would mean no starkid, plot holes fixed, relays intact, Normandy crew not stranded.

Ain't gonna happen.

Grudging acceptance = Shep reunited with crew.

Ideally, a variation of Indoc theory that retcons Starchild and the RGB-implements to be nothing more than symbols for the battle taking place in Shep's mind.

Barring that, pretty much anything that at least SOMEHOW amends the collossal stupidity that's space magic, "we kill you every 50,000 years so that synthetics won't kill ALL organic life eventually", "a new dna", the ground team teleporting to the Normandy, the Normandy fleeing, Harbinger leaving the battlefield, etc.

I should say that if the fate of the StarChild is somewhat tweaked to make it more of a victory, as opposed to Shep just acting like a mindless husk at the very end, I'd be pretty delighted.

I want a damn final boss fight where you get a renegade interrupt where you rip the Illusive man's spine out of his freaking neck along with his head with your bear hands, then shove his head into the star child's mouth, then kick him into the little explody tube thing that destroys the reapers, then as the Citidel is blowing up, Shepard jumps out of it with his breather mask and freefalls back to earth while dodging explosions and ****, then enters earth's atmosphere, lands on top of Harbinger's oversized head and stabs him in the eye and rides his body to the ground. Then Shepard gets up as the magic red wave sweeps through the galaxy, destroying the reapers. Shepard's squad mates sit looking at the smoke from Harbinger hitting the ground and Shepard emerges from the smoke, gives Garrus and Tali high fives and what not and Shepard gives an epic closing monologue, the camera zooms out and you see a decimated Earth and the screen cuts to black. THE END!!!

Shepard reuniting with all the crew and everyone.

Or

A fully fleshed out ending to the game where shepard beats the Reapers back as they failed to successfully indoctrinate him.

Starbrat ripped from the game, Harbinger boss fight, no Normandy stranded, reuniting with LI and surviving friends.
