I just want all sorts of endings. BioWare are ofcourse allowed to name one specific outcome to be canon, but forcing the player down one road in an rpg isn't always the best course of action.

Wouldn't it have been quite awesome if the rachni mission in ME3 had been replaced with something entirely different if you killed them in ME1?.
How about having Cerberus join the alliance if you didn't save the council in the first game.
What if you chose to destroy the collector base, wouldn't it be awesome if Cerberus didn't have the reaper corpse or their "upgrades"?.
How about the Alliance becoming more like Cerberus if we could somehow unite them?.
What if you chose to show support to those human anti aliens on the citadel in the first game.

Think of the the various outcomes we could play through... but oh well.

In my opinion a happy ending is not necessarily the best ending to this series.
But I would have loved a honest funeral with his friends mourning Shepard
and Admiral Hackett or Anderson delivering a speech.
Miranda impregnating herself with Shepard's DNA although she was not his/her
girlfriend would then make a good prologue to ME4, telling the story of
"[insert name here] Lazarus Lawson".

Hopefully the EC will bring some closure. Surprise me Bioware! Please!

Poker with your companions. That would be awesome, just a scene that zoomed out; no actual dialogue or anything.

I expected Shepard would die if I didn't get the highest of high EMS scores (or pass the toughest of plotline/flowchart checks). I thought if I meta-gamed like crazy and acquired every possible asset available, I would see my friends and LI again.

I wanted a happy ending, I wanted hope at the end of all things, I wanted there to be something worth fighting for to be realized at the end because there's already enough death, destruction, war, genocide and suffering going in in me3. The people who say there shouldn't be a chance for things to made right in the end are a bunch of dicks.

If by happy you mean - Shepard lives, companions live, reapers destroyed - then HELL YES!

THIS DAMMIT!

I've wanted one from the beginning and have made no indications otherwise.

Where are my blue babies dammit?

I wanted the option to be available. It was always about choice for me from the very beginning... It should always have been about choice at the very end. This is where BioWare screwed up badly.

Point of note ; There is no way that even with the entire Normandy crew surviving and Shepard being alive, able to live out the rest of his or her life with Love Interest, that such an ending be "unicorns and lollipops" happy as detractors to a "happy" ending would seem to think.

The galaxy is fracked up badly by the Reapers, family, friends and billions of people died. Worlds at the brink of collapse and just because our hero / heroine survives and gets the girl/guy its "unicorns and lollipops?"

What a bunch of...... Nevermind.

It is all bitter.
Shepard and crew surviving and retiring with love interest would have been the sweet. You know like in bittersweet?
Guess not, people just want Shepard to go on and commit suicide because starbrat tells him/her to.

I never expected a happy ending, I was always expecting Shepard to die or sacrifice themselves at the end.

On one hand, a happy ending would give an ideal view for the future but on the other hand, I don't think that it would fit in with the theme of the trilogy imo.

I want all the time and effort I put into trying to destroy the reapers and all the time I spent establishing peace with the Geth, and helping EDI figure out life to pay off. I don't want to kill friends and allies to destroy what need to be destroyed.

If you want to start a new trend, try everyone EXCEPT the hero dies. Everyone in the galaxy but Shepard dies. Now that would be trend setting!

I don't need happy ending... I need "realistic" ending which makes sense.

I just want something well-written, happy or sad. I don't mind either really. A happy ending seems unrealistic anyway, for such a big climatic battle/war.

I'd like to have the possibility to a happy ending, and I'd write the whole ending new without the star brat (or at least that I can deny to choose one of the three choices). The ending should be created depending on all of the important choices you made through the whole series. What it should have been from the very beginning. If EC just are cinematics and nothing else changes, than it was big waste of time. Yeah, closure is not bad in general. But that doesn't change this horribly written ending!

God Bless us all.

I want a range of endigns?

Really. I doubt it. 1.9 gig worth of data for the download. It may change something: our opinions.

From distaste to disgust. I can see all parties being unhappy with it. However there are some evidences of re-writes being accepted, but this is not a re-write, its a tagger on. All Bioware did was cut open the ending like a wire and then twisted more wiring into place to extend the ending. Its still the same game ...

in a choice driven game i rather prefer that i have the choice of having happy, sad, bittersweet and all in between types of endings.

A 1,000,000 times this.  Plus I did not want a ghost, hologram Haley Joel Osment character to pop up and spout nonsense or have scenes where Shephard does a ****** swan dive into a beam of light, or incinerates himself, or walks right into an exploding tube. All 3 of those scenes are the actions of a retard.

I always want the option for a true happy ending. Not the fairytale sipping mixed drinks on a beach somewhere or babies ever after (but I do love me some babies ever after), but just... happy. A note that Shepard and his/her LI were reunited (if he/she lived). That my crewmates are living well and sometimes still see one another from time to time. That the galaxy is rebuilding slowly but surely.

There also need to be other options for less-happy but still satisfying (with satisfying being the key word) endings. None of which we had for ME3.

Admittedly nine times out of ten I will aim for the happy ending, but still. I want that to be my choice to have a happy ending or a bittersweet one, not have unsatisfying ones thrust upon me.
