Lesson learned - guys you can suggest more by showing less.
lighting - music - closeups - shadows
suggestions - next time get a womans advice, and the advice of someone who has actually had sex more than once.
watch a romantic movie and copy how they do it
some skin here, a siloette there, some breathe sounds
peoples imagination will fill the shadows and do a better job than you could.
guys take some advice next time and dont wreck a fantastic ending with a tacky and completely unromantic scene - better to have cut that scene out entirely if your not going to do it properly
QFT!!!
Bioware failed at this so horribly... If i remeber correctly Mass Effect was allot better at this... Why the downturn guys?!
I wish people could just calm down a little bit. While I think that the sex scens could have been done better, I cannot for the life of me agree that they were really that bad. If I for example look at the first scene with Morrigan/Leliana (yeah, it's was little disappointing they get exactly the same scene) I can say that everything really works, with the sole excpetion of the one when you see the players face with the woman on top of him, and this is to a large extent becuase the player characters face looks really stupid. Cut that out and the rest is fine imo and certainly very tastefully done, in the sense that it's good balance between explicit and not too explicit. The close ups of the women's faces work surprisingly well and so on.
Whoever thought this was crude and worthy of a fifteen-year-old is pretty unfair in my opinion. The technology didn't cope with the artisitc ambitions I think. True, I think it was a bit funny about the underwear, but come on. If that is all it takes to break your immerssion, then you need a bit more imagination I think.
I want to applaud Bioware for their ambition, even if I think it might have been better done technically. There is no need to continue doing things more explicit than that - this was just fine. The artistic ambition was spot on for me, I just wish you had taken time to QA the final version and edit out the stuff that the engine couldn't reproduse well enough. Next time you'll get the techincal stuff right too and it will be even better.
