Vorcha and Batarian classes need to have a balance. A pure melee build on anything higher than bronze will more likely fail miserably, but cover shots in fire all the time is a poor build as well. You have to get to that right pace where you're closing the gap while gunning them down as you walk forward, catching cover only when it gets too hot and using melee as a push power to keep them back/finish them off rather than charge forward and smack.

Ironically, this is the complete opposite of how I play vorcha. I shut the brain off and run completely on instinct and intuition when I play vorcha, and it works way, way better than meticulously planning my next few moves in my head.

About the only thing I can really say I intellectualize when I'm playing vorcha is that I use my hearing for cues on when it's best to back off. When bloodlust is up and you're in close quarters, your screen's going to be perpetually glowing red and blurry, so your only cue on when to back off is when your hearing starts to dim. At that point you really need to dodge roll away and jockey for a slightly better position, then heavy melee back in and do a light melee combo to stagger your enemies.

Don't feel bad, everyone has a certain style they like to play. That's why there's a ridiculous number of characters to choose from. Still, don't write off a bunch of classes because you suck with them the first few times you take em out. Play around with them, sometimes you have to experiment with different builds and weapons to get the characters how you want.

I played an all vorcha gold reapers match last night... It was AWESOME! All four vorchas barbecuing banshees, ravagers, brutes... And everything else for that matter lol. Nothing can stand the heat brought on by four flamer-blasting vorchas. I think it was split (two soldier and two sentinel).

Def fun times had with that match. So the problem is def not the class. Hell had they stuck to lore and given the krogan even the slightest health recharge for as slow as they are, I would probably play krogan a big. But the vorcha can regen health, have an awesome melee attack, and the agility to boot...? Thank you, sign me up. AND I was able to find a class worthy of rocking my crusader 2 in the process despite how heavy it is...

This is pretty much my playstyle, when using the Vorcha Sentinal.  I don't bother with flamer, and spec into Grenades, and health regen.  Then I simply go 'feral' with a Harrier, Reegar and melee.  Harrier until I close distance, Reegar up close, then melee in close.  Sometimes, I overextend, but with enough dodging, and DR from melee, you can usually get your health and shields regenerated enough to come out of some pretty insane scraps.

Yeah, gotta agree... vorcha can outlast anyone if you know when to back off. And the batarian's ballistic blades rock. Definitely different play styles if use to playing Asari and infiltrators.

Vorcha Sentinel for me is the BEST mobile fighter I have used. Max everything but grenades and I turned myself into a walking death machine. It doesn't hurt to use a Reegar Carbine and a Harrier too ;p

6/06/6/6 Vorcha Sentinel with Revenant and Warfighter gear is great. Chuck a few grenades into a group to get Bloodlust going and just mow everything down with the Revenant for the rest of the round.

They're amazingly fun in silver. Crap in gold compared to the cookie cutter gold classes.

None of them is crap on gold. They are synergistic to other close-combat classes. Most people play ranged ones, so you should always check the distance between you and teammates as you could get separated and die in the hard to reach place. The exception is Krogard as he's immortal.

Not currently my favorite classes (though the Batarian soldier and Krogan Sentinel have been in the past) but they're more than gold viable. Got my team extraction on gold.

Still, I'll be glad when the weekend is over, they aren't really what I want to play right now.

Solo silver last night with vorcha soldier with a viper sniper its a little better since they buff the gun. The weapon stack and health regen helped nicely too only used a couple of ops pack

I'm Great with Terminus Races. Probably because I go bat-**** crazy when enemies get close and keep a clear mind when they are at a distance.

Vorcha that dont melee crazy and go for the health regen can destroy Reapers on gold.

they are the only race that can stand head to head with banshees without dieing from DOT and can stack so much DOT on Banshees that instant kills are often intrupted.

Ravagers can be run straight up to and meleed to death even without the build for melee thanks to the fact they cant fire up close and their swarmers and blood cant overcome the effects of even a non stacked bloodlust.

all on gold...

Yeah, Vorcha are Reaper killers. Brutes/Banshees/Ravagers? No problem. And husks are perfect for keeping the bloodlust stacks up.

Yeah other than the quarian male, the batarian soldier is the best in the game imo. Spec em out max with the exception of blade armor and you have one tough ass killing machine. They are the best at crowd control and with the expolding blades they can take down pretty much anything fairly quickly. Maybe the vorcha are different but i've heard nothing but good things, and when my teammates play as them they don't seem under powered, quite the opposite in fact.

The ones that tend to be poor at it think that running into a mess of troopers and swinging their arms is a good playstyle.

fun but not good. Reminds me of a skit from the Animaniacs cartoon.

Good idea melee an almost dead brute.....................................Bad Idea melee a brute with full health.....................................Suicidal idea melee  2 brutes with full health!!!!

This weekend showed me I how much I have been missing by not playing the Krogan Vanguard more. I got to admit that I preferred Asari Adepts so far, but I guess from now on I'll be spending more time charging and punching big mobs with my Krogan....for Tuchanka!

Hopefully it should open the eyes of elitists so they realise krogan Sentinels kick booty.

Have to admit - I'd badly underestimated them previously - I've now decided even Krogan soldiers are gold viable with the right loadout (yeah, I've been playing a lot of Krogan today)...
