After looking at the Dead State Kickstater, I was noticing that Project Zomboid was being thrown around as a good zombie survival indie game. Well, I was kind of skeptical at first, but after I downloaded the $7 release, I'm actually surprised how good the game is so far.

It is really rough around the edges, but from what you can do, I think the game is great. It is all about survival, though. They are promising that, once fully released, there will be a plethora of storylines both mod and developer created. I'm pretty excited I mean you have to battle not only zombies but: sickness, starvation, NPCs both good and bad, depression, anxiety, and several other factors.

The zombies themselves are a cake walk when they only come at you two or three at a time, but once you get a horde on your back, it is literally game over. Shotguns and pistols bring so many zombies because of the loudness that they are best used as a last resort "last stand" type of situation.

One other factor is traits. You can choose different character traits, but you have to balance out good and bad ones. If you pick a good trait like brave, you have to pick some negative trait like overweight in order to proceed into the game. Some are not implemented all too great like claustrophobic is really annoying since even going inside a bathroom will trigger panic. Also, they have you choose a vocation like fire officer, police officer, security guard, and construction worker, which come with their own little pros like the police officer has good aim and the fire officer can swing an axe faster and run faster.

It is an addicting game with some really good gameplay and ideas.
