How would it invalidate anybody else's choice? And how can it be a price if it happens regardless?

You're saying that the destroy ending exists only so that Shepard can live (even though he doesn't always live through it) and that there are arbitrary effects tacked onto it just so that it seems bad enough for you to not want to pick it.

What about those of us who would be fine if Shepard died? Where's our option to destroy the Reapers without sacrificing our morals or betraying our beliefs?

We still do not know how much alive Shep really is when you've got the "perfect" ending. Could be a couple of broken bones, or all of his/her internal organs could be in the process of shutting down completely since the implants were fried by the energy wave.

As charming as seeing a mangled vegative Shepard would be, I was hoping the EC was planning to make the ending a little more bittersweet. Hearing the Geth are confirmed dead on Destroy further lowers my expectations.
