We all know that a great percentage of players out there see an N7 under about 500 and assume the player has no skill. To be honest I used to think the same. The N7 rank has become a skill level assesment rather than a competitive leaderboard goal. Today I played with a gamer I assumed would run around the feild shooting crazily into the air. An asari vanguard using a claymore...no way I thought! Using no rockets the entire match he put up a very impressive score considering the other two players were SI using the Krysae. After the match was over I asked how he put up that high of a score being so low in N7.

The message read

I have chosen not to promote I just see no point in it. Skill is determined by the reaper lives you take not by a number based on how much you play the game, and by the way im no he im a woman. Dont judge a player by her N7 ;)

I dont think ill ever kick a player based on N7 again. I had more fun playing with that gamer and that match than I have in a long time on ME3. Even if the player is new to the game we all were at some point. Id forgotten the point is to come together and just have fun :D not play until you pass out trying to get that Ultra-Rare you're dying for. Or to glitch and cheat running through matches as fast as possible. Id like to give a shout out to the woman who renewed my love for multiplayer and the fun it brings.

Heres to those players in it for the fun of it all cheers! ^_^

I'm N7 270 and frequently put up scores over 140,000. Not that that means anything considering I've played loads an jus have only promoted for commendation packs.

In short, lots of people don't promote, tis silly to judge ability on it ever, judge on weapon load out and weapon level.

I stopped promoting a long time ago, hopt to stay at the 500 range I am at, had I known when I started what I do not I would be in the 200 range, most of my friends are in the 200 range but none of us promote, we just use the reset cards to tweak.

N7 Rank means just how often you promote a class, nothing more. While it IS true that someone with a high N7 Rank has a good chance of knowing what he is doing, due to clearly promoting several level 20 classes, it is not a measure of skill by any means whatsoever. As long as the character level is reasonably high for the difficulty I'll give them a fair shake. Even this one Geth in a Gold match ended the game, to extraction, at level 8 (he joined midway) and he did great during.

I boot for weapon(s) and character used, not their N7 level.

O_o My N7 is like low 300s or something, and that's just recently...

I started gold runs though around 100 or so.

But it does sound like this gamer is a beast if, as an asari vanguard with a claymore, she was able to outscore some SI's weilding the rocket sniper.

N7 means nothing to me, and I have 4000+

I promote when I hit 20 for fun. I like playing from the start.

N7 means nothing. After 120 all bets are off; wild cards ahoy.

I was carrying gold games as a N7 120.

I refused to promote until the first operation that rewarded us for doing so.

If anyone is N7 120 now though they haven't been playing all that long or just don't want commendation packs.

man plays a video game, learns that N7 level is indicative of absolutely nothing, posts about it on the internet, more on this startling development as the details arise

Assumtions are a dangerous thing. Especially when they are completly wrong and based solely on your personal opinions.

N7 means one thing, period, nothing more, nothing less.
It's a time stamp.

If someone has a very high N7 they've been playing for a while to get it. If someone has an N7 under 20 it means they are new to the game.
The end. Nothing more.

N7 - 120 might mean he/she had maxed out all their classes and just didn't want to promote. Personally, I don't use such things (N7 levels, loadouts) to size up player capabilities. I go into a game then find out. Sure I'll lose equipment here and there, but sometimes people surprise you.

The only reason I ever promote now is to make lemonade out of lemons (I'm in character card hell, kinda cushions the situation).

My N7 hit 450 last promotion challenge (what was that, a month ago?) and hasn't changed since, even though I play for an hour or two most days. Unless they start offering credits or free bonus packs for promoting, my N7 is likely to stay at 450 until the NEXT time they do a promotion weekend.

So yeah, N7 is a really poor way to assess skill level. A lot of people artificially supress it, some people surely have (or still do?) artificially increase it with leeching and even when it works as it should, experience doesn't directly translate into skill.

Not basing it on my opinion. Out of about 15 gold runs ive done this weekend with randoms a player comes in under around 500 id see a boot pop up on them almost immeditly.

I have around 300 and that's only because of the challenges and I still allways make more then 100k on gold..... You can find noobs in all n7 ranges..... higher n7 rank just increases the propability of skill but never garantees it.

I promote to keep my skills sharp at reduced levels and so I can notice how certain changes affect the game at different levels. My 1000+ N7 level is just icing on the cake. Colorful and pretty, but not as tasty and filling as the cake.

N7 is pointless, you have 2000's on bronze with level 20's.

I'm only 200 and something, because I only promote when it's a challenge, or when I want to reset skill on more than one race in the class.

If N7 is 120 or over, I look at weapons for reference. But I'm still very skeptical of anyone with N7 under 120. You can't fully understand a class until you've played it in actual MP. No amount of SP will give the same experience. And it's a lot harder to work together with a class if you don't know how it works.

Really? That's just pathetic. Under 120 I can understand, because it means they have never fully got all classes to level 20, but after that it's just plain stupid.
