I've seen people who are 500+ N7 level and they blew ass.

Tell me about it.

Two of the worst matches I ever played were with players in the mid hundreds. All with a decent loadout and looked competent enough.

First one I had to carry and was amazed I even managed a sole surviver extraction.

Second one we wiped on wave 6 after I managed to solo the objective and secure the money.

Both on Bronze too.

Are you telling me, that people who don't see the point in promoting could be skilled?

Holy crap!

I only promote so that I feel a little less screwed every time I get a character card instead of an equipment upgrade or ultra-rare.

I have never played with a level 20 character, I always promote right away, and honestly I can't understand how you can keep playing with a maxed class, it should get super boring playing always with level 20, not to mention that your adaptability goes to hell when you are forced into a situation out of your comfort zone.

To me is much more impressive when I see a guy with a level 1 overpower people with level 20 characters with similar leveled weapons and gear.

Eh, I like promoting. I usually level all the classes to 20 and then promote all but one tech and one biotic class and go on a shopping spree. I do wish I could hide my N7 level and I also think the matchmaking screws me over when it tries to find people at my N7 level (2300 or so).

But I agree, N7 means squat. I'm always amazed when I see that N7 900 or 1000 who scores 20k in a silver match. That must've been a really painful 1000 levels...

N7 means nothing. After 120 all bets are off; wild cards ahoy.

Heck, at 20 all bets are off.

I've seen a kid who was N7 20 using a lvl 20 Salarian Infiltrator and had a Widow X and a sniper amp V,. asked him how the heck he did it...he'd been playin his Infiltrators since day one...never promoted...and never created any other class...only Infiltrator...

My mind...was blown...

EDIT: I mean...i LOVE my Infils...but to ONLY play those from day ONE?!?!? i can't even play as only Infil for a whole DAY!

Today I played with a gamer I assumed would run around the feild shooting crazily into the air. An asari vanguard using a claymore...no way I thought! Using no rockets the entire match he put up a very impressive score considering the other two players were SI using the Krysae. After the match was over I asked how he put up that high of a score being so low in N7.

You know what?, I started with Asari Vanguard and claymore since i started in MP, I almost always overscored people with high N7 who asked me the same question that you ask her.

Some of us don't really like to promote, I am a big example of that, my N7 is 1300 just because of challenges, but If i were a promote fan I were like 10.000, but believe me when I say "N7 DOES NOT MATTER", is not an indicator of skill.

She actually told me it was a build similar to the one you posted in a thread awhile back. Big fan of yours John, and yes im very glad I got to see it first hand.

If their N7 is under level 50 or so, I expect them to be sub par players, only because they haven't played enough to really get the hang of things. Even so, I never boot players based on that. In fact, the only time I boot a player is AFTER a match if they were just plain awful.

I've only promoted for the weekend operations, so my N7 level is only 260-something. I've always known not to judge a player by their N7 level, save for the under 50 thing, but like I said, that's an experience buffer, and not a judgement of the players' skill.

Anyway, I'm glad your enjoyment got renewed, TC. I've settled into a nice corner between pure enjoyment, and my next ultra-rare fix (I want a Harrier so bad!!!). I don't take the matches too seriously, and I'd never think of exploiting/cheating just to get credits.

I think it says alot about the kind of person you are if you used to boot people based on their N7, seeing as the N7 rating is pointless as hell.If anything, promoting yourself just makes you a worse player, since your character is no longer a 20.

Galaxy at War is a joke, and you can get that achievement in a different way, so unless you are at the very top of the leaderboards and trying to stay there, I can't see a single reason anyone should be anything BUT a N7 120 once they level up all their characters.

Oh, and I'm almost always at the top of the board, no matter which character class I am playing or what crappy level 3000 kid is on my team with their level X weapons yet still failing hard.

Played with someone who had an N7 level of 57, rocking Male Vanguard and Vindicator I, against silver and reapers, he didn't do to hot, was getting downed if you left him by himself and just kept shockwaving everything. While his N7 level doesn't mean anything, his weapon and performance in game matched did.

I don't think people are really booting others because of N7 level, people are just booting others because of their equipment and weapons. At first, I thought this male vanguard was going to use just Charge and Nova, but after playing with him in game, he wasn't as effective as I expected him to be. Maybe I should have voted to kick him or leave the game and try again (which I do mostly)?

What I'm trying to say is, people from my perspective rarely boot others because of N7 level. People boot others because of their class or weapons or level, not because of N7 level. That person you were playing with had a vanguard class with an exceptional shotgun and I'm pretty sure their character level wasn't that low for whatever you all were playing, so I wouldn't even consider booting them.

N7~120 = PURE SKILL!

WTF?!!!!!!! BSN.....make up your mind

HYPROCRITES ALL UP IN THIS THREAD!

Well 120 is the magic number and probably the only exception. It means you leveled up all of your characters and have been playing for fun and gotten better. If they are getting a good score it might also mean they are a bsn member. Lurker or a regular.

N7 vs Weapons look closely you know who's a beginner N7 rank 120 and a true non promoter I only promote out of strange rare instances raising myself to 480 from 120 to 300 to 480 since each mass promot is equal to 120 N& levels more when completed all classes to 20 ppl know I'm not a lowbie new guy when I pull in a tempest a phalanx on my SE on a FBW/G/G taking score of 90k-150k top board cause I know how to use a tempest.... I know my energy drain it's when ppl that are rank 88 50-90 joining up with lower tier weapons that can't handle even a W/G/G run

BUT I know a few higher rankers that suck and most of the tops are frat account (frat houses college dorms etc.) where more than 1 variable of person plays the account

don't judge thy N7 judge thy understanding and personality jsut cause I'm a krogan don't make me a idiot just cause I'm a vorcha don't make me a melee over doer.... I know my place I know when I make a mistake and I try to never repeat it I try new things yeah but I do it on the constraints of "if I fail the team this will not be my tactic till I perfect it" this games community on 360 is quite full of blowhards and biggots I for one understand my wrongs and accept what it thus why mos tof MY operations are successful unless by the hand of fates that my team cannot handle themselves thus I cannot make up their slack

But... I thought points meant nothing.

To be honest, it's not surprising. A friend of mine keeps a level 20 soldier and he teases the other player with his cerberus harrier. Although he's not very good at the game as dedicated people are, he's still good because of his gaming background.

What surprises me more is finding better players then myself but still being respectable teammates on pugs.

I promoted for the achievement.
I promoted all my characters for the Weekend Op that rewarded it.
I'll promote again when it's rewarded again. (Unlocking new customization options or characters for that class would be nice.)
