I am in Lothering right now and it says "Can't Travel at this time" for everywhere like the camp and all that.I chased the merchant off, now there's no where to get supplies and we all keep dying.I'm new to roleplaying and have it set to easy.:crying:

While I'm here, how exactly do I give gifts to party members, I read the little hint thing, but It doesn't seem to work.

In order to travel you must be at an exit point of the map. To give a gift you go to your inventory screen, switch the character to the one you wish to give the gift to, then select the gift you wish to give them.

Usually you can direct travel via the map. However, in some cases (such as the first time you are in Lothering), you can't do this. It is to prevent you from bypassing plot relevant triggers (in this case an encounter near the exit).

Edit: Barlin in the tavern sells supplies.

The learning curve for DAO can be a bit high.

Just a few tips - first, try and do all the quests you find. They'll gain you XP and loot, which will make things easier on you later.

If you find a battle really difficult, look through your options - you might, for example, select all the members in your party and..... RUN AWAY!.... eh.... do a tactical withdrawal. What this will do is lead the enemy to chase you, and probably some of them will be lagging behind. You can then either find a choke point where it is easier for you to take them on, or lure them in in smaller groups, so you can pick them off one by one.

Also, make sure that you are putting the best armor and weapons you find on your characters.
