Now they are telling me to wait one more day to be able to play it.
FroFrom the old forum:
Dragon Age: Origins on Steam will launch on the following dates:

Canada and the United States: November 3

Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, South America (Brazil), Singapore,
South Africa, Taiwan, and Thailand : November 5

Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK: November 6

German Steam will NOT be carrying the Digital Deluxe Edition. All other countries will offer both the standard and Digital Deluxe Edition. Standard and Digital Collector's Ediotion will both be available on the same dates.

From Steam:
Available: 6 November 2009

This game will unlock in approximately 2 days and 20 hours.
Don't those release dates have a contract?

Release dates are not set by Steam, and have nothing to do with Steam. This isn't prejudice or racism, it is a decision made by EA so that digital releases will come with or after street dates in those countries. Again, this has NOTHING to do with Steam. They are legally not allowed to release the game before the date given to them by EA for certain countries. Making a ticket with steam doesn't help. Take it up with EA.

Yes, I'm sure VALVe is doing it because they hate Brazillians.

It's a much more sensible explanation than them being bound contractually to EA's release dates, which further correspond with store release dates.

I agree, that's a completely silly idea. They must hate you. But I don't. I love you, man.

If anything Steam would be allowed to delay when they provide the game. Many other games have been released on Steam long after they were originally released via traditional media. However I am not sure of an instance where steam has delayed a release that they have been advertising on the steam site. If anything it would be to limit the strain on the servers.

Did they change the release date listed for you?

If so they pulled this S*** just two weeks ago with Borderlands. It's seems to be Steams normal operating these days to lie to international customers and tell them earlier release dates to get sales. I've heard of at least 3 seperate times they've pulled this. How anyone outside the US trusts them is beyond me. What's even scarier is the legions of Steam/Valve fanboys who line up to defend them and their shady business practices.

What's wrong with you? Steam didn't 'decide to delay the game' today. The release date for your region was set way in advance. It's not Steam's fault that you looked at the North American release date and didn't do any research. You have noone to be angry at but yourself.
