Graphically, there's not much you can do with a completely wasted city.

I had a bad feeling when the Crucible first came

+1

Same here, along with the Cerberus Sith Empire and the Alliance officials acting like five year old retards.

Crucible made me weary, the dying reaper intrigued me, the mention of a master of the reapers excited me, the ending made me go :|

When I killed the Rannoch Reaper I thought "f*ck yeah!" The Renegade interrupt was glorious.

Yup that interrupt was awesome. Honestly I thought the crucible was going be a giant emp shockwave that targeted reapers.

This is no time for rational story telling.

Was it? I find it hard to tell from the real thing (I've never been keen on London )

Seriously though if it had had some landmarks in it, perhaps a fight along the Embankment, it could've looked good.

Problem with a wasted city is that most landmarks would have been wasted along with it. ;)

Au contraire mon ami. Check Fallout series or Enslaved for example.

Never heard of Enslaved, and I never got around to play much Fallout (never made it out of the bunker-thing). What did they do with the wasted cities on those games?

It is kinda hard but like in fallout 3 they could show landmarks that were partially destroyed

Big Ben is there. Not sure how much else would be left after 200 years of extreme technological advancement.

Many european cities have buildings or entire districts from XVIII-XIX centuries or older; actually my own building is 100 years old. Those same buildings (or most of them) and the new ones should be there in 200 years as well. As for Mass Effect, London lacks details, "life", the feeling that few months ago there're people living there. In that mission I didn't have the feeling I was walking through streets and destroyed buildings but stone walls rendered with poor textures. It was too empty. A destroyed city feels like a chaotic one, destroyed stuff everywhere, papers, cars, rubbish bins, benches, posters, bricks, destroyed stores, etc. Just like Fallout series as I said:
