Just by curiosity, who is or are the most(s) useless team mate(s) ?

For now, I found Sten very useless for me, I mean people used him as a tank (I hope So), but now there is Shale

Sten is mdps.

Sten and Ogren are the same guy and both are equally useless as both a tank or an offensive weapon add to that they have the least interesting party dialogue and I'll never take them with me again.

Take Wynne w/ Ogren... the conversations are priceless!

Sten is boring as crap, though

I'd say Sten is the worst companion.  The should've made him dual wield or something to make him different from Ogren.  Peope say Sten is great dps, but I'd personally rather take Ogren over Sten.

I would have to disagree with this. Sten is a very amusing character, especially when paired up with Morrigan and some of the dialogue between them. He seems to be the only character she doesn't have a sarcastic retort for, probably because he could pop her head like a grape.

Zevran for me. Leliana is much more likeable and can do the same.

I have no love for Sten. Zev can be funny at times. The rest I use frequently.

Lot of time for all of them; generally my main was most useless. Hogged all the best gear, never really said much apart from repeating a few pat phrases, and hardly had any tactics set up.



Oh and Wynne what a nag. Even the health on tap can't compensate.

Sten is a complete dude, no way is he useless. Firstly, he doesnt come with a specialisation, so you can take him anyway you want him. Secondly, he looks feirce, Thirdly...hes like... the sten man.



Zevran is useless. Leliana eclipses his very existance. Dog doesnt get much party-time either. I also rarely use shale after the first play through, as a stumpy OP golem tank that looks completely out of place isn't really neccesary and I'd much rather use allistair, sten or oghren.



From my last completely playthrough, my list of least used characters (with the least of all being first) is like so

Dog, Zevran, Shale, Oghren.



Allistair, Morrigan, Leliana, Wynne and Sten where all fairly regular attenders.

People don't like Zevran? Okay, so he's not the best at fighting, but his conversations... good grief! They're just awesome.



Zevran + any female = hilarity.



I actually find that Zevran and Ogren make Wynne have the best conversations. Otherwise, she just nags on an on about blood magic.

Sten. I tried him, briefly, but watching him swing his mighty two-hander around at the speed of glacial drift, only to go miss-miss-miss-huge crit on something that only had two HP left anyway...



Yeah, nice Deathbringer attack there Sarevok, I guess I'll be bringing Alistair along again...



Oghren's about equally a pile of fail as far as dps goes, but he's at least funny.

If you position Zevran behind the enemy, he crits almost every hit. He's one of my favourite team members to bring along. Especially for his Assassin skillz.

That's pretty much how I feel too.  Leliana's utility can be applied after you've cleared everything for most zones.  Going back to lockpick chests, etc takes time, but at least she doesn't fill up a combatant slot.

Alistair, Wynne, and Morrigan are by far the best to have for combat, I feel.

Am I the only one who finds Leliana useless besides her lockpicking skills? If I need range, I'm going Morrigan. If I want close combat rogue skills, it's Zevran. Is there some key skill that Leliana has that I'm missing?

Actually, I do agree that it might seem that some characters are kinda like duplicates like Leli and Zevran and so on. But for me, I actually find uses for every one of them and my play style changes depending on who's in the party.

So I gotta say that I like them all.

I usually use Morrigan and Wynne and make them become Arcane Warriors along with my main...it's pretty unbelievable how effective they can be.



Pretty much all the tanks bar Shale are worthless by comparison to AW's..



But for the sake of dialogue i usually boot Alistair and Sten out of the party the most, Alistair whines far too much and has too much of a "i must help everyone that needs help" attitude

I think Morrigan is the most useless.

I used shape shifting once simply out of curiosity, and never used it again.

Didn't even bother with her hexes.

Admittedly her cold spells did come in handy occasionally, as did the fact I gave her a heal spell, but she was always the weakest link in my party.



So why have her in my party?.....because without a doubt she is the most interesting character in the game.
