From what I heard they're actually going to confirm it was just an easter egg. Shepard dies in every single one of the endings. He used to be able to live in the control and destruction ending in the alpha version of the game if you did LOTS of things right, but they cut that out. In the current version, Shepard is never meant to survive any ending. If this is all true then the rage on these forums will be massive...

Also explains the silence on the 'crew reunion' part...

I wonder how the hell the breath scene would work outside of the IT. Shepard would be killed, no doubt by the explosions on the citadel [Don't say he could survive, he's human, not a god]. And those that say he is on earth how the hell did he get there without being harmed by the explosions?? If the extended cut doesn't explain this stuff I swear to god...

I am not spreading rumors I was asking if anyone knew or wanted to guess and I said I was exaggerating

I actually couldn't care less about seeing more of Shepard and crew. I'm more interested in the new humanoid jungle society where children have the bodies of adults, but just shrunken down to child height. Seems to be an illogical evolutionary step to me. Hopefully this will be explained in EC.

The person breathing is actually the Catalyst having taken over Shepard's bodily form. The breath is Shepard-Catalyst's first breath. ME4.
