The interview was so mind boggling. They act like we're mad because we dont want their game to end. Really? REALLY? THATS WHY WE'RE MAD? No no no no no. With the hundreds of thousands of comments, the thousands of forums and articles, and the hundreds of videos outling step by step, point by point at why the ending is so broken, how is it even REMOTELY possible that they dont know why we are mad. The only way that this is possible is that they truly dont care about their fans anymore. They say they do, but they really dont.
So when the EC fails as I expect it to (95% its very underwhelming or they use very cheap even more cop outs with more space magic and flawed logic, 4% its very very VERY average or incredibly simple and bad, 1% its satisfactory at best.) I guess ill do Borderlands 2, Halo 4, and Black Ops 2 (its Treyarch so it will be much better than what activison turned CoD into)
this is pretty clearly a complex mess where no one is happy about anything and everything they do is due to paychecks, stress, and fear.
what a nightmare.

lmfao. My thread just got locked, so i will continue my discussion in here as permitted by the moderator. And no it's not the end of the line. It's just the beginning, Mr. Moderator.
So, I guess I missed something, but apparently there is a rumor going around that they might just cut the "Shepard Lives" Scene altogether to fix the EMS situation, so all players don't have to worry about how high their EMS is for the EC ending on Tuesday. And that picture that was leaked of all the squadmates standing around the memorial wall on the Normandy after the crash could be the scene that is default for everyone who had a high enough EMS where their crew mates surivived.
I will be beyond pissed if they were actually stupid enough to cut out the "Shepard breath scene" even though the player including myself did everything right and took the time to play the game. Us players that did this deserve an ending where Shepard can live. I think we have earned that right to at least know that Shepard lived. Consider it as a reward for all the hard work and effort put into the game and now if this is true they want to take that away? It's a damn RPG game where it's your story. You control what your ultimate outcome is and if you made all the right choices and prepared the correct way for the final battle, you're damn right I expect my Shepard to live. The Shepard breath scene at the end was one of the only scenes I actually enjoyed in that horrific ending. I was expecting them to maybe add more to that scene in this EC where Shepard rises up as heroic music starts to play cutting to the credits, but know I am astonished that this may actually be a possibility now based on what others have said.
I am beyond pissed right now as it is from hearing about this rumor for the first time. This could be an old rumor, but I just started posting again on these forums a few days ago. If this rumor is indeed true, I'd rather just keep the red Space Magic ending as it is with no closure or clarification at all than have my reward for all my hard work, Shepard living, be taken away and replaced by nonsense. This would be a huge kick in the nuts to all the people who worked hard to get their EMS high enough and spent hours getting the perfect playthrough only to get the same ending as everyone else where Shepard always dies.
Now, I ask all of you. How would you guys feel if this rumor was indeed true and the scene is removed? I know that would be the final straw for me with everything BiowEAr related and I know many others will beyond pissed as well.
Wouldn't cutting something like that mess with their ever so precious "artistic integrity"?

Its funny I know some people who are just gonna get everyone killed during the suicide mission, so they stop the collectors and all that good stuff, but they also come to a definitive if not depressing ending. At least its a "good" ending

Is it integrity or insanity to defend "your" ending that you borrowed from other sci-fi media??

I will move on. If I ever see a game come out from Bioware that looks redeemable I will wait a few months till after it comes out, read a bunch of reviews, and buy a pre-owned copy so the company doesn't get a cent. If enough decent games come out I will invest in collector's editions and dlc again- but it will take many years for them to earn that trust. I hold a hell of a grudge. If Mass Effect 4 comes out there is no way in hell I'm buying it.
be sure you read reviews from fans and forums instead of mainstream
those are the important ones

I d say it was more stolen or directly ripped from Deus Ex than borrowed. Its sort of eerie going back and watching the 3 endings from Deus Ex. At least those endings worked for that game

...which, I guess, is very possible...
then I'll rage around on the forums for a while, feel down, finally try to move on to the next game and be more careful before buying Bioware games in the future.
Oh and I'm looking forward to the first trailer of Dragon Age 3, where every 2. youtube comment will ask "will there be more than one ending TROLOLOL"

I was only trying to be nice to a company I used to enjoy (meant using the term borrowed instead of stolen)
Yeah the Deus Ex endings worked for that game.. I have no idea why ME wanted those endings.. It really felt so out of character for the game..

I couldn't agree more. I learned this when Mass Effect got great reviews from the money makers like Game Informer and even New York Times (what the hell is new york times doing talking about video games anyways? o.O)

Then they couldve done the destroy ending, but instead of showing the relays explode then cutting to the map, they should have showed it like deactivate and break apart or something. Something showing that the relays would no longer be working, at least for a while. Just dont show them explode as that goes against established lore.
Finally they either do a cutscene or fallout summary of the game ending showing how your choices affected the universe with a sort of Halo 3 memorial for everyone who died and Shepard. Then it would show what your LI did afterwards.
How hard was that to write? It took about the time it took to type. Real hard BioWare.
Notice how cutting out the god child solves EVERYTHING? (almost)
