So if the EC fails to meet your expectations

Bioware has been given something rare. They have the opportunity to take a second crack at the ending, a longer deadline and a chance to read the minds of the gamers (who are the source of future money). Fans of other games would have walked away. Fans of Bioware said "Do it again" because we believed they could nail it.
In a multi-choice RPG they could produce a spectrum of endings (like the ones they promised, even if it's just text on the background of a planet in ruins) varying from dystopic grim to pick-who-lives-and-who-dies to Best Case Scenario (I won't call it sunshine and bunnies, because those worlds are still in ruins and those trillions are still dead. Banging Tali does not automatically make it a happy ending).
If they don't take advantage of that chance, if they've spent the last few months cementing in place the worst received element in the entire Mass Effect universe and doubling-down on the dumb, then that's the only reason I'll need to keep clear of any Bioware product in the future.
They shot themselves in the foot with ME3's ending, and they didn't need to. If they end up taking a second bullet and shooting themselves in the other foot, then I'm not paying money to see what they blow off next.

I didn't ask you what you felt you deserve. I asked you why you feel that what YOU want should trump what OTHERS want. Why should Bioware change their ending to suit what YOU want and tell the people who do like it (though few they are) to go pound sand?
Because we have more money than you.

So it can only be what I expect or better. Bioware have conditioned me well.

Indeed. Looks like BioWare did something well with the endings afterall.

Couldn't be worse right?

If there's one thing I've learnt on the Internet and the games we play, is that things can always get worse.

I just have this horrible gut feeling that it's going to be terrible and I'm going to end up crying alone in my room in the fetal position but, hey, I've been wrong before...

No but seriously. I've never expected that much from the EC. It won't fix the parts of the ending I don't like. So if it fails I won't be more upset than I already are. But one thing is for sure, I don't think that the EC can make the ending any worse.

When all through the BSN plenty of people were stirring with questions about E.C.,
The forums were ablaze with rage and despair,
In hopes that Chris Priestly would monitor them with care,
The Indoctrination Theorists were nervous in their thread,
With visions of Shepard getting a grip in his head,
And Catamantaloedis had just trolled another thread,
Hoping to annoy and enrage with nonsense and banter.
Okay okay it didn't rhyme very well but I thought it would be funny. Anyway I am getting excited about tomorrow is anyone else?

Wtf can't they just do an ending where the fleets battle and the united galaxy force wins.
It just got silly when the Reapers took the citidel to earth after being told about the cataylst by TIM. I rolled with it though thinking well at least it leads to an epic battle ending. Nope just a lame Deus Ex/Matrix 2 style nope we couldnt think of a real war style way to end this properly.
and the whole dream sequence thing gimme a break. I wanted to punch that kids face.

But I'm almost positive that my expectations are far too high. If/when the EC fails, I'm driving straight to GameStop and turning in all three Mass Effect games to help pay for my copy of Halo 4.
And I highly doubt that I will be buying another BioWare game ever again.
