I doubt they would go that far. I think Bioware (since they are apparently trying to leave Indoctrination theory possibility open) will just extend the breathe scene by showing Shepard getting up from the rubble and walking a few steps on his/her own, then fade to credits.

I don't see that since IT could be head cannon and from what it sounds like that wouldn't make anyone happy don't think here that dumb.

no; if that were to happen they would have to retcon the grandpa grandson seen which BioWare seems reluctant to change seeing how it is part of their artistic ending.

The cynic in me wants to say one of two things will happen. Either Shepard will get up and walk ten steps before falling over dead or two Shepard and LI will be reunited but Shepard will die in a hospital.

My philosophy now: Expect the worst. That way if it's not as bad, you'l be pleasantly surprised. The cynic in me expects the EC to blow chunks, though.

Guaranteed? No. I fully expect that my LI will be stranded on some far away planet with Joker still come Wednesday. It will just have more explanation of how on Earth that actually happened.

I assume it won't happen, because Shepard is still on Earth and the crew is on another planet the last time we see them.

Unless they cut far into the future, I don't see Shepard meeting his/her LI.

Yes, that is a "no, it's not guaranteed," because it's appears that Mac'n'Casey hold their artistic integrity above the satisfaction of their customers.

In any event, not necessarily expecting it, but it isn't as if I would be too surprised if something like that happened either.

I've seen more than a few people mention that the script version of the ending is much better executed than what we ended up getting.

I expect the opposite and they'll retcon the ending so that no matter what Shepard dies in every single one with it just being a question of when, either instantly or seconds after. Just so they can try to force everyone to pick Synthesis, to which I'd rather go in with 900 EMS and fry the Earth to a crisp and kill everyone and everything. Frak those other two endings man frak those endings hard with a rusty lawnmower blade.

It better be in there. Casey and Mac hinted at it in the EC interview where they said how "people automatically assumed the worst" and whatnot. And because I know they're not changing anything, just adding to the current ending, a Shepard + LI reunion is the only thing that will salvage the ending for me.
