So i played this game back when it came out. I was not impressed with this game compared to other bioware titles. Im not going to give reasons why because you all have heard the same stuff over and over again. I would like to ask you all if the dlc is worth getting, and if so does it take place outside the city?

No, DLC is not worth getting, but it does take place outside the city.

I think enough time has gone past that the no spoiler thing isn't that strict.
Yes, both dlcs are worth getting in my opinion. They do change the flavour of the combat somewhat, they do have more varied envrironments, and both have interesting storylines (MotA you have to think about the implications a bit). MotA is a bit more lighthearted, and I actually laughed out loud at some of the jokes instead of thinking to myself "That's funny."
If you could only get one, I'd get Legacy. And take your sibling and Varric with you if possible. But yes, the story in Legacy is really good, and could be very significant in future games.

Yes if you are going to replay the game and probably try nightmare mode. I do enjoy the game tho for my own reasons. the combat. It helps with exp and items. i entered the deep roads act 1 at lvl 17. i enjoy nightmare mode.
dunno if you feel the same way tho but i think if you are replaying the game its worth buying at least MOTA LEGACY
and yes theyre outside of the game , legacy tho has 1 checkpoint where you can come back to kirkwall. The dlc can be played anytime you can go to your house. i have exiled prince and the black emporium from preorder but i found them both useful very much so because of exp and i feel like im getting the complete experience.
mota you cant leave the dlc till its over.
they all give exp and items which are sellable for good gold.
stack em runes of fortune if you are restarting in nightmare the dlc stuff helps you alot.
im doing a thorough playthrough and i will say i believe the dlc was worth it.
I enjoyed it.. tho to be honest i didnt like mark of the assassin as much but i did find it fun amusing and the boss battle at the end was certainly cool. not to mention all the exp.

I liked both. They're worth getting, IMO.
Legacy is better.
The above poster pretty much touched on everything, so need to say more. Except I hate French accents and it's one reason MOTA isn't as good. I really hope we don't spend much time in Orlais for DA3 if they use those French accents...

If you "enjoyed" DA2, they're worth getting. They've basically improved upon the base game and ironed out most of the kinks.
If you didn't enjoy DA2 at all, you could -maybe- enjoy them but I'd advise you to not purchase them simply out of risk management.

if you didn't like the game, you probably won't like most of the DLC. Legacy is the best of them all, imho. i always say that if you're going to get only one DLC for DA2, that Legacy should be the one you get. in fact, as far as i'm concerned, i would take it over EP and BI. both MOTA and Legacy take place outside Kirkwall, and both get rid of that nasty repeating dungeon issue.
but unless you have extra points lying about you don't plan on using anywhere else, it probably won't be worth it for you.
