Sorry if this is not the right thread, feel free to move me around to the neccesary location but i find it to be better here than in the discussion of the game, since a lot of the discussions here are on the Lithographs. I am someone who is a big fan of the series and is in need of help getting started with Lithographs, I would prefer for my first piece to be a limited piece, signed hopefully but i have noticed a lot of the lithographs as of late are coming out as only numberered which isn't alotgether that bad. I myself have seen the Crucible Lithograph on Pre Order, and am hearing people say that the odd size and things are a bit off for them, and that the subject matter, which i personally am not all that fond of, is a sore spot for it. I was wondering if there was a past lithograph that would be a good starting place, i have seen a few Aria lithographs on ebay for a reasonable price, and i do like the Asari in general so that would be a good piece, but at the moment i am having some problems locating a good selection of pieces.

Tl;dr:
I am looking to get into Lithographs, anyone have any suggestions on a starting piece, would like to start out with limited edition pieces.

Thanks for your time.

Hey there, glad to see someone getting into lithographs. It's a rewarding hobby (although expensive to begin with).

Regarding the Aria on e-bay. First of all, Aria was part of the first batch of black-bordered, no signature series. That being said, it is still limited addition and does look increadibly cool. Now the couple on e-bay were bought by someone who literally buys them and posts them straight away for an inflated price (they were up before it had even sold out at the store). I personally wouldn't give any money to that money-grubbing %*#@. That being said, it will no doubt be unopened and in mint condition (provided it was in good condition to start with). The price listed is just over double what was originally charged. So it is a personal choice.

If you like the black border style (no signiture but limited), then there is also Jarvis and Anderson listed on the store.

Regarding the Crucible, yes it is over-sized and yes the Crucible itself is a touchy subject. But I personally like the fact that it is controversial. I have bought it, and it is signed.

Depending on where you live you may wish to get in touch with Antique_Nova, as he is currently offloading the majority of his collection (all the old stuff) and he lives in Europe.

If your in the US there are a number of good deals on e-bay for the older, signed stuff. They don't ship to Australia or I would have already bought them. As a rule, any of the old signature stuff anywhere between $80-$140 is a good (in some cases VERY good) deal. For the rarer, more expensive stuff, it is a personal choice.

Anyway hope that helps, and welcome to the crazy world of ME Lithograph hunting. :)

*edit* I should also mention that out of the ones the store is currently listing, 'Purgatory Cells' and 'Dead Reaper' are very cool. Both are signed and look fantastic. 'Prototype SR2' is an odd one, and as a personal opinion, is the least favorable of the Normandy lithos (it should be called 'Landing Bay' lol). So if you are considering getting any of the lithos on the store, get them together to save on shipping.

Thank you for commenting back, i do live in the US, so i will check that person out as well. And i too, noticed that the Prototype SR2 was not that pretty or intriguing to me, i found that it was fairly well circulated as well on top of that so that wasn't a positive. I will give the Crucible a shot, i think i will go ahead and mull over my choice since i won't have the cash to get too many deals, but i am thankful for you help and hopefully i will be able to have a signed piece in my collection soon, if not signed i might have to go with that Anderson piece, it is very good looking even though i have no big connection with him as a character,(I am more into Liara,Ashley,Miranda,Thane, Tali, Legion). thank you for your time!

If you are still looking to get the Aria lithograph, then forbiddenplanet.com are still selling some. They are based in the UK but ship internationally I believe. I don't know how much the shipping would cost, but might still come in cheaper than buying from ebay. Just an option.

Yeah, that's the same guy who puts them on ebay. Price is the same.

Sorry, I'm a bit confused... forbiddenplanet.com is a website, they don't sell anything on ebay.  I don't know what's on ebay at the moment but the Aria lithograph on the website is £31.49 (~$49) plus shipping.

^ yeah you're correct. I didn't take into account how far the pound/euro has fallen, i still times by 2.5 to get an estimate.

Thank you very much for the info! I will check out that website, and then make my decision between Aria, Anderson,Dead Reaper, or Crucible.

Ok, I'm just getting into ME lithographs as well, and reading this and checking out forbiddenplanet.com and seeing that they have Aria for around $50 got me all excited cause I would definitely like to have an Aria one. Therefore, I feel skeptical just because the price on forbiddenplanet.com is significantly lower then other Aria lithos I've seen so far. Thus, leading to my question- has anyone bought from forbiddenplanet.com before? Are they reliable? Is it the REAL Aria litho- the same one from the BioWare store from the past? Just seems like finding this for under $100 is too good to be true haha!

Yeah I always buy from Forbiddenplanet. They are reliable, there a collectable merchandise store. A couple stores are in the UK.

The reason it's under $100, is because it's not as rare and not wanted as much as the previous ME2 ones. All the ME3 ones suck in comparison.

Buy it though, it looks amazing!

I've bought my earth alliance lithograph from forbidden planet and there packaging made me skeptical at first, but once i looked inside i was satisfied with how it was sent.

I would purchase from Forbidden planet again over the bioware store if the was an interesting lithograph released.

I know you have placed your order now, but would just like to add that forbiddenplanet.com is an online shop for science fiction related items etc and they do not sell over the RRP.  They were set aside a number of the lithographs by the bioware store so they are genuine.

I haven't used them for the lithographs, but I have bought quite a lot from them before.  So basically - no need to worry! =]

So i have placed my order for the dead reaper Litho as my first purchase! I think it being signed and just the way it looks being impressive to me definitely helped me to purchase this!
