If the extended cut or any future DLC fails to rectify what you found so distasteful about the ending, will you come crawling back, when ME4 comes out, what about JE2 or DA3?

Lots of people are saying they will leave EA/BW/ME games for good, then others keep saying "pfft, no they won't, they are just being dramatic"

So which is it? I'm curious?

I won't quit them for good, but they won't see any of my money. Until they change their behavior (i.e. not lying about their products to generate false hype, treating their customers properly pre and post release, getting back to their roots and making good RPGs instead of trying to make multi-genre game titles) I will be buying their games used.

I don´t know if I want crawl back to a company that likes to be chin-deep in selfmade smut. Feels kinda icky to me.

That would depend. On trailers, previews, demos etc.

If Bioware did another game that looked fantastic, I'd still buy it. My expectations would be a bit lower though.

Might not be possible in the next console generation, so what are you going to do then?

I'm pretty good at keeping my word on these kinds of things.

When Marvel Vs Capcom 3 came out the way it was and after the release of the ultimate version, I vowed to never by another Capcom game for as long as I live. I've lived up to that promise so far. MvC3 was the last one I bought. Traded the game off for creds I was so disappointed.

If the EC flops for me, then I'll vow to be very cautious of EA/Bioware and not to buy anything on first release. I would have made this vow after DA2 came out, but I just knew Bioware wouldn't screw ME so badly. I guess I was kinda wrong there.

Fair enough, but could I pose this to you. ME1 looked fantastic and was. But then the franchise ended on a sour note for many. So would you still be willing to set yourself up for that?

Or would you only be interested in one off stories like KOTOR or Jade Empire?

If they save the franchise, by giving chance to re-union with ME2 LIs or crew, alive Shepard (since my Shep is badass, i didnt spend 100+ hours to die under rubbles) I will think that BioWare understood their faults about ending. Surely, this will affect their further games as a lesson 'dont screw with your fanbase' so i may consider to buy DA3 AFTER see reviews, same goes for JE2 or Generals 2.

If they stick with killing our character no matter we've done in franchise and saying 'Artistic Integrity' about this, i'll gave up and say goodbye EAware.

DA2 is a fine game (i'm playing it post ME3, though, haha).

Might keep on these fourms but i will not pay another $60 dollars for a ME4 when the series was ruined for me. Never have been a fan of those other games.

To be honest, judging from the demo and trailers I had a feeling ME3 would be disappointing. But it was the end of the trilogy, so I just had to buy it.

It is a fine game.
They just cut a lot of corners when making it.
You have to admit; they were dead ass wrong for those reused maps. You're already stuck in one city during the main game, maps could have some variety. I'm just saying.

Pre-ordered DA2 & ME3. Bioware might still retain my business after the past 18 months, but theyve definitely lost my loyalty. They wont see a dime until i see peer reviews, regardless of how good the EC is. If the EC is bad, itll just make it easier to move on.

First, I will say that it is 36 hours to early to ask this question but ok, assuming the EC falls short:

I won't say I'll never buy a BW game again. Who knows, the teams might change or maybe at some point, they will learn from their mistakes eventually and maybe they already have and just can't change the product now without "loosing face" from their perspective. I simply don't have enough information on what is going on behind the scenes to make such a final decision.

That said, for the last 10 years I basically bought BW products (and ME products especially) without hesitation or review. After this, I will be sceptical, wait for extensive reviews AND fan criticism and possibly wait to buy titles for budged prices if they seem to be of good quality. The days of preordering BW games and awaiting them eagerly on launch day will be over. A shame really, now that I think about it. Those were good times.

I'll probably buy them used after the games have been out for a while. Oddly enough EA is at the forefront of anti-used games but they're the only company I will buy used from.

If the EC sucks, it's the end of the Mass Effect 3 road. They're welcome to release retake Omega DLC, or anything else, but I won't pay a dime for it.

But I won't write off BW for good. I simply won't pre-order their titles anymore, and I'll take a "wait & see" stance to any purchases. Most likely, I'll see what the BSN has to say about DA3, JE2 or ME4 before I decided on purchasing.

Having said that, I'm hoping to feel satisfied enough with the EC's resolution so that I can get back to enjoying the ME trilogy. Should this happen, they can count on me purchasing every other piece of ME3-related SP content, and I'll do so happily.

Not sure the EC will be enough to redeem the ending failure in my eyes, though.

if EC is bad no more money to bioware from me, just wouldnt want to set myself up for another big disappointment. When starting a new series my first thought would be "i wonder if this will end as badly as ME3" not good for immersion or fun.

I believe I can confidently say that I won't be buying DA3 on day of release. They can fill the game up with pre-order bonuses all they want (which would put me off even more as that stuff should have been in the game regardless), it might work on other people but it certainly won't work on me. When the game comes out, I'll be looking at actual customer reviews (not reviews from the likes of IGN who will likely sugar-coat everything) to see if it's worth the buy or not.

I never planned on leaving to begin with. Yes, the ending is terrible. Yes, it should be fixed. No, the EC probably won't add enough to salvage it. That doesn't change the fact ME3 as a whole is an excellent and enjoyable game. Game studios make mistakes, even BioWare. That doesn't mean we should all just abandon them and all start worshipping CD Projekt until they inevitably mess something up as well.

Well, IF IF IF DA3 looks blows-your-socks-off amazing, I might consider getting that, as I did like both the 1st and 2nd games (and glad to see I wasn't the only one that did like DA2, though yes the repeating maps was a real PITA). But it wouldn't be a preorder, and it wouldn't be until I saw a lot of honest non-gamesite reviews about the game itself.

Otherwise, the chance, it is blown.

After ME3, pre-release hype and pr stunts only deserve eyerolls. If when the dust settles (say 1 month after release) people are still saying it's good, then I'll buy it.

I won't preorder any game.

They'd seriously have to convince me the games are worth playing if the EC sucks. Mass effect was my favorite series until I finished it, I still like Jade Empire, I doubt I'd buy a sequel if I thought they'd just screw something up again. Same goes for DA3.

Depends on the product. Ninja Gaiden Black is my favorite original Xbox game, but I wouldn't touch NG3 in the clearance bin.

If ME4 is bad or not my style of game, I won't feel obligated to buy it. Pledging loyalty to an entertainment company is a rather ridiculous concept in the first place.

I don't crawl for anyone. Bioware should be the one's crawling to their customers considering we're the ones giving them our money.

More to the point, the people who say they are done, the serious ones, will just leave. No need for drama or anything. DA 2 and ME 3 combined tell me that Bioware isn't very interested in making games that I'm interested in, so, logically I take my business elseweyr. Also with the abundance of kickstarters reviving the old school of RPG's, I can't say losing Bioware as a good RPG dev is such a bad thing, c'est la vie.

And it saves me from being nickle and dimed to death by EA, the consumer wins, at least.
