"You'll come crawling back"... will you?

I will judge the EC after playing it. But I'm not optimistic. And even if it's stellar (not holding breath) I won't approach BioWare games in the same way. I will not preorder a BioWare game, in any case, and I will be very much attentive to the names on the writing team roster when deciding to buy future games from this company. I will probably wait until after the game has been out a while before purchasing it, and only after hearing glowing reviews from REAL people who are playing it.

If the extended cut or any future DLC fails to rectify what you found so distasteful about the ending, will you come crawling back, when ME4 comes out, what about JE2 or DA3?
Lots of people are saying they will leave EA/BW/ME games for good, then others keep saying "pfft, no they won't, they are just being dramatic"
So which is it? I'm curious?
If JE2 comes out I am there regardless. DA3, I just don't know. DA2 went so cartoonish and over the top in gameplay and even in the look of the characters compared to DA1, that it wasn't just a different story arc, it was a different game, and not one I liked. I'll have to research ME4 first; I never buy prerelease anyway - in game trinkets don't mean much to me; either I like the game or not. Ultimately, I still liked ME3 enough that it was definitely worth playing, so probably yes.

If the EC isn't good enough, if it doesn't solve the issues and the ME3 leads (Hudson, Walters) continue to deflect and lie about the issues people have with game (not just closure the ending was just plain bad) then I won't buy anything with them as leads. They both have undeniable talent but go right off the deep end when not constrained by someone to do sanity checks.

The only way I'd push aside future games is if Casey and Mac mess them up so bad that they don't even feel or grasp the essence of the established universe.
As for Dragon Age, then they'll definitely see my money for DA3. I don't understand all the hate for DA2, but I enjoyed it, despite it's flaws (levels recycled being the major one).

Do not buy from them! And tell your friends why. This a company that is a cancer that the gaming industry needs to be rid of!

If the EC fails (and I am not optimistic about it) that's it. I'm uninstalling ME3, 2 and 1 cause I still can't play the other two know what they lead to.
I tried to start one brand new from ME1. I got down to Eden Prime, met Ashley, got to the tram then thought "Oh wait, they will explode and the only thing that changes is the color of the explosion. Nah, I don't think so." then shut it down. Sad because the first 2.9 games of the series have a high replay value but the last .1 of it ruins it with all the plotholes and silliness.

It's pretty simple from my point of view. Bioware may have been my favorite developer for the past decade but there are plenty of other great ones out there and no lack of good video games to fill the void.
Honestly sorry to those employee's who have gave it their all and tried to stay the course or have done the best with what they were given. I appreciate their effort and will freely admit that 98% of Mass Effect 3 was amazing and that DA2 must have been a nightmare to develop in the amount of time they were given.
I don't understand how 2% of a single game can blemish the entire series, but somehow, in the case of Mass Effect, it does; and Dragon Age 2 had very few redeeming qualities. I really hope they can do better with DA3 and I'll be watching intently to see how it turns out; But I assure you I won't be buying it until I'm 100% certain I will enjoy the systems, the characters, and the story with no fear that the ending will putter out like it did in ME3 and DA2.

I could never turn my back on the Mass Effect universe. Despite how the ending for ME3 is, I thought the game was amazing overall, as well as ME2 and the first. These games helped me out through some pretty tough times, and I hold this franchise very near and dear to my heart.
The only way I'd push aside future games is if Casey and Mac mess them up so bad that they don't even feel or grasp the essence of the established universe.

DA2 had very small setting and recycled maps made it all repetitive. Much so that I didn't bother getting the DLCs until I got them free from a rewards program. Then I played Legacy and thought "Okay, this is how the real game should have been." Then the quit while you're ahead happened when I played that POS Mark of the Assassin. Then I thought "This was nothing but a gimmick to get into Felicia Day by the devs obviously."
So DA3 I will wait to get it at a discount or used from Gamestop. And if it's really good, my GS has allowed me to trade in used games to upgrade to new ones paying the difference. They did that with ME2 actually. I learned about the ME series after 2's release. And it was cheaper for me to upgrade to new than buying Cerebus Network separately. I did that in the first 7 days of course.

But if I've got time, I'll eventually get around to watching the first clips hit YouTube. And if, by some miracle, the ending has been re-written enough to be considered 'adequate' or even 'passable', I'll download the EC.
However, if it's just a case of showing the obvious fallout of the 3 asinine choices from the Catalyst, then I'm out. It doesn't matter if they finally do what they should have included from the start (different scenes showing the effect of your various choices to the principle cast, after the dust has settled) - if the plot still ends with the same fiasco of elementary storytelling 'don'ts' as it currently has, I can't in good conscience support BioWare as a company selling itself on 'story-based gaming'. No downloading the Extended Cut or any other DLC, no more multiplayer sessions, no more BioWare/EA games. I'm voting with my wallet, in favour of Good Writing.

A shame really as I wanted to buy DA3 but the handling of ME3 has put me off it.

Bioware games are off my preorder list as a result of DA2 & ME3 together. The question for me is whether they'll ever take the time needed to make quality games again. So until I see proof that they have, I won't spend the money, used or otherwise.

edit: If they make a good story DLC/expansion that also fixes the mess that is the ME2 exclusive LIs (including the possibility of Thane not dying) I'll bring my cash back to the table, anything short of that??? no way.
