If nothing is fixed I will buy used or not at all if I see bad user reviews.

Depends on the product. Ninja Gaiden Black is my favorite original Xbox game, but I wouldn't touch NG3 in the clearance bin.

If ME4 is bad or not my style of game, I won't feel obligated to buy it. Pledging loyalty to an entertainment company is a rather ridiculous concept in the first place.

you make a good point.

It's just an issue in the days of buying before you experience something. That's a lot of money to throw around before you know you can trust the brand. This is why restraunts have you pay at the end.

I guess the most wise thing to do is to buy used/bargain bin IF the game looks good and only until there have been a few hits to show they are back on track, do you start buying close to initial release.

If the EC unexpectedly undoes the damage done to the Mass Effect Universe, and makes a post ME3 game worth playing, then maybe, but I very much doubt that will happen, and I see no point in playing a game set before 3, or an MMO.

DA3, or any other Bioware game, maybe since it'd be a different team, but I'll read all the spoilers I can, watch the ends on YouTube, only go by customer reviews, and buy it second hand. If next gen console's won't play used games I won't buy one anyway, so that's not a problem for me.

But I sure as hell won't be buying anything Mac Walters is lead writer of, or anything involving Casey Hudson.

Well they have damaged themselves in many areas...

For starters many can't stand to even play through again, I've tried, I just can't do it knowing the inevitable star-child is coming. So they have already lost a sizable chunk of DLC sales by people who have already moved on or have no desire to play again.

This is the second game in a row that will end up having canceled DLC I bet. They canceled the Exalted March DLC for DA2 because sales were so bad. It's interesting how the two games that came out under EA have had so many issues.

Worse yet they have lost all credibility. I no longer trust anything they tell us concerning future games. They blatantly lied to us about what ME3 contained, and they even did it up until a few weeks before release, when they KNEW it wasn't even true.

Because of that I will also not be preordering any Bioware game in the future. I will wait until I have seen numerous reviews from sources that don't rely on EA advertising dollars.

More to the point, the people who say they are done, the serious ones, will just leave. No need for drama or anything. DA 2 and ME 3 combined tell me that Bioware isn't very interested in making games that I'm interested in, so, logically I take my business elseweyr. Also with the abundance of kickstarters reviving the old school of RPG's, I can't say losing Bioware as a good RPG dev is such a bad thing, c'est la vie.

And it saves me from being nickle and dimed to death by EA, the consumer wins, at least.

I don't see myself leaving the BSN, though.  If I'm disgusted tomorrow and want nothing else to do with ME3, I'll still pal around these forums.  I enjoy the discussions and the LOLZ too much to leave.

I'm not making any declarative statements.

I'll judge their next work before paying full-price, that's as far as I'll go.

At the moment ME SP is dead to me as the ending is nothing i like to have in my entertainment and they said there won't be sequels, so anything coming in this IP will be followed by the ME3 ending. This might change to some extend depending on the DLC.
And while it didn't change my wilingness to buy further Bioware games of different IPs i won't buy on first release anymore as it seems not all their stories will be what i'm interested in. And that won't change even if the DLC fixes everything with ME3.

Pre-ordered DA2 & ME3. Bioware might still retain my business after the past 18 months, but theyve definitely lost my loyalty. They wont see a dime until i see peer reviews, regardless of how good the EC is. If the EC is bad, itll just make it easier to move on.

Yeah, hate to say but I'm in this boat. And it's not so much loyalty for me, but trust that the games are going to have an epic win.

DA2 wasn't a bad game, but none of my saves imported correctly (xbox) and all the map were same old same old again and again and again. I mean, at least make the dirt a different color or something! argh! So I wish I hadn't paid top dollar for it.

Don't get me wrong, I want the EC to be epic and pull ME3 SP out of the can, but I'm nervous about if they can do it. I'm not sure they did the EC to give people what they want, or to prove some sort of point about the true genius of the original ending.

In the meantime, I love playing MP.

I reserve my judgement about future BioWare games for when they have been released. I can however say that I didn't pre-purchase ME3 simply because I got burned by DA2. Now that I have had an overall unimpressive experience with ME3, the next game (DA3) will have to be quite the gem before I will be okay with buying it.

I still hope that BioWare are just having a run of bad luck... but when I am convinced that the golden goose has stopped laying 24 carat eggs i'll chop off it's head and serve it for dinner.

Depends entirely what kind of game the next Mass Effect game is. The outcome of the EC matter little in my decision.
If it's an MMORPG, FPS or RTS with the Mass Effect label slapped on to it just to make it sell I wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole regardless how awesome the EC is.

If it's a Mass Effect game as we know it I'll probably buy it. Maybe not blindly pre-order it. I would wait for the community's verdict and then buy it if it's positive.

But I have to admit. I honestly think that I would have a hard time enjoying a Mass Effect game that doesn't include Garrus, Tali and Liara. I just love those characters too much to let go. And playing a Mass Effect game wtihout them would just remember me of what I'm missing and what could have been.

I will always be interested in Mass Effect. But I will not preorder or pay full price for it. I don't care if the previews look good enough to cure cancer. I will wait for fan reaction and/or watch it on Youtube before I decide to buy anything Bioware makes. They have just burned too many bridges in the last couple years

I pre-ordered ME3 and I kept myself totally un-spoilered. Never again for a BW game.

Whatever they do in the future, I'll wait. I'll read fan reviews and if there's some sort of agreement that is decent enough, I'll buy the game.

It would have to be something pretty damn special to even get me interested in another Bioware game. ME3 in total was a slap in the face to fans and then Bioware's response to those unhappy with it was just salt in the wound.

I'm going to download the Extended ending and I'll play it because I still have some hope (though, it's pretty small) that they may actually pull it off and give the series the ending it deserves but outside of that... I'm not interested in another Mass Effect game, I have no more interest in Dragon Age and even though I enjoyed the original Jade Empire, I couldn't really care about a follow-up title to it.

A proper Knights of the Old Republic sequel might interest me though... get rid of this poor MMORPG idea.

Well, i'm not really interested on Dragon Age, so, if the endings are not really fixed, i'll probably do not buy any other Bioware Games in the future.

Tomorrow we will see if they can gain redemption, or if they will fall to oblivion.

Yeah, this too. If it's an MMO, or some kind of dumbed down tower defense game, forget it. I could get on board with an FPS or RTS though. Mass Effect: Wars! Mass Effect: Ghost!

You also have to wonder what direction they're going in if BW is claiming to stand by the endings, yet planning future games. What exactly will we be coming back to? Prequels? "Mass Effect: Amish" if you chose Destroy and wiped out technology? Play as the Protheans with dialogue choices ranging from bitter to sarcastic? What they have left to do with the franchise is just as big a concern as the potential quality of any future game.

If the extended cut or any future DLC fails to rectify what you found so distasteful about the ending, will you come crawling back, when ME4 comes out, what about JE2 or DA3?

I'd drag my my body over broken glass and rusty nails for JE2... I'm such a hopeless romantic thinking that BioWare can undo the damage :kissing:

There are already a few companies I have left behind for good due to the poor quality of their games. (Activision for example.)

I will have no problem leaving this company behind as well if the EC proves to be distasteful.

I like how you use the term "crawl," in attempts to insinuate those who remain as being weak or desperate. Nevertheless, I play Bioware games because I enjoy them, not because I expect my demands to be met. When I lose interest in what they produce, then I will leave. But that time is not now or for sometime. And yes, I will continue to pre-order and pay for DLC (when it does come out).

if this is what they do with the emotional investment they beg me to put into the game then why the **** would I make the same mistake and play another on of their games, No...I will wait for full player reviews before playing any of their games in the future and never invest in a trilogy from them again

"You'll come crawling back"...

Was this an actual quote from a developer, or were the quote marks used for dramatic effect?

As far as whether the EC will affect my decision to check out future BW games, not really. I had a Corolla once, crappy car. Hated it. Didn't keep me from getting a Yaris later on.

I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be tempted to buy an ME4... but no: I wouldn't be able to bring myself to buy it from EAware.
