I think some with stick to their guns, but just as many behave as addicts...rationalizing, bargining, throwing temper tantrums, depression, but when it comes down to it they wont be able to help themselves. Just one more fix.

When I first came to this board, not long ago, my feelings were not to spend a nickel, BUT I was having hopes for a Mass Effect 4.

Unfortunately, now I have seen how people on these boards have been treated, with, as it looks to me - an outsider, severe disrespect (and I myself am not pleased with the SP issues, I will never be a MP player) and outright childish behaviour, from the company I thought was a serious company.

So, my hopes for a ME4, that I had when I came here, is now gone.

Lots of people are saying they will leave EA/BW/ME games for good, then others keep saying "pfft, no they won't, they are just being dramatic"

So which is it? I'm curious?

I had never heard of Bioware until I asked a worker at Gamestop for a good RPG (I was trading away Oblivion for the 35th time). He said ME2. I got it. I loved it. And when I heard ME-3 was coming, I was like "awesome, so now I have a little RPG series to get into". But if the EC still blows, I'm trading the game in immediately and I'm done. I don't need more crappy writing, more grim endings for the sake of grim endings. The end of ME-3 (as it stands now) makes no sense and leaves me feeling empty and confused. I won't experience that again.

If Bioware makes good products, I'll likely buy them, but I'll probably always hate Mass Effect now.

I also will probably not have any faith in RPG trilogies or stories written by Bioware until all of the series are out and reviewed.

Me4? No. JE2 is not happening (sadly), but if it did, I would consider buying it. DA3, I will wait to render judgement, but it's unlikely that I will ever pre-order a Bioware game again until they recover my trust with better products. Even fixing the ending of ME3 won't be quite enough to recover that trust. DA3 will have to be as good as the original as well. Only then would I consider preordering from them again (Unless the marketing for DA3 really wowed me).

More to the point, the people who say they are done, the serious ones, will just leave. No need for drama or anything. DA 2 and ME 3 combined tell me that Bioware isn't very interested in making games that I'm interested in, so, logically I take my business elseweyr. Also with the abundance of kickstarters reviving the old school of RPG's, I can't say losing Bioware as a good RPG dev is such a bad thing, c'est la vie.

And it saves me from being nickle and dimed to death by EA, the consumer wins, at least.

I don't see myself leaving the BSN, though.  If I'm disgusted tomorrow and want nothing else to do with ME3, I'll still pal around these forums.  I enjoy the discussions and the LOLZ too much to leave.

To me, that actually makes you a potential customer whether you believe it or not.  I'm not saying it's this bad, but: If an alcoholic, tired of being an alcoholic, doesn't leave a bar he wants to leave right when he says he's done, he will eventually buy a drink that will get him drunk.

I used to play Need for Speed World.  A "free" to play MMO.  It was fun at first and sometimes I want to check in on what they're doing, but I swore off the game.  I tried to find games that were like it or better than it, but was unsuccessful.  NFSW had elements from Most Wanted that I loved to death and no other game can give me that.  Or at least, that's what I think.

The reason I wanted to leave is that "free" to play actually was PAY TO WIN.  I paid real money to get chances at higher parts that probably never dropped or rarely dropped at the end of races.  I was gambling.  The same mechanic for that crap is in the Multiplayer for ME3.  I had some Bioware credits that I used on the packs once for better gear before I realized what I was doing.  I cursed myself out loudly for that one.

Anyway, after realizing that I was gambling on NFSW, I stopped.  Then I saw that as EA released more new stuff (they also took something away that I was leveling up to eventually buy with in-game cash), it required real money in order to enable yourself to win races against other players for loot and bragging rights.  It disgusted me and I swore off the game.  Eventually, I quit the forums altogether because every second I stayed I felt I wanted to try my luck again against other races...basically I wanted to give EA another chance.  Nope, screwed me and I'm done.  My account is probably still active and I haven't been there in a year.  And the only way I'll ever go back (to the forums) is if I learn, from someone close to me who plays the game, that EA has reformed.  No one close to me plays MMOs so I'm good. :D

If a company screws you over, staying on a message board held by that company sends a message to said company that you're still willing to buy and they'll do what they can to make sure you fork over your cash.  John Riccitello talked about charing shooter players for more ammo when they're in the throes of combat.  Being in the midst of the company you don't want to deal with is just like that and you will come crawling back.

Don't care about JE and DA, but ME4 is something I would judge on its own merits. Unlike ME2 and 3, I'd take the route I took with ME1 - ignore it for a time, then read up on it, see if it's cool and then maybe buy it.

The days of me buying their games Day 1 are over. For me, the Bioware logo on the game case is simply no longer a guarantee of quality. I'm actually going to wait and read customer reviews, and watch videos of gameplay before I give EA another cent of my money.

My expectations are incredibly low.  I'm still going to download the EC and play the hell out of it, but if I'm left as dissapointed as I expect then Bioware won't be getting another cent from me for the foreseeable future.

Unless of course they can prove to me that they're back to being a company of integrity (inb4 "artistic integrity" jokes) with future titles like DA3, and not just another one of EA's lapdogs.

If the ending was just bad, I would just be more cautious about pre-ordering them. But when a developer knowingly misleads the customers by lying about their product, that is an entirely different story. EC is their last chance with me. If it fails (which I hope it doesn't with all my heart, but...) then I am done with them for good.

Unless ME4 shoots gold from my DVD drive, I think I'll wait for that entire trilogy to complete to wait and see if it ends in another disaster.

Probably won't be coming back unless BioWare releases a Mass Effect that includes all the things I wanted to see in ME3.

It's not just the ending that pissed me off, it was also the lack of interaction with the reapers. I wanted to know more about them. I wanted to fight them. I wanted to be sent in to destroy a genetic harvesting facility. I wanted some reinforcement for what happened at the end of ME2. These are things that a lot of the community members have pushed, both pre and post release for ME3, and BioWare didn't listen. I doubt that they will actually listen now, especially considering how they turned a blind eye to the ending and spat in our face, saying we should be greatful we're getting the extended cut ending when we should be getting what they promised us for the last 5 years. The game is so centered around Shep being the galactic babysitter, with so much of the conflict focusing on cerberus rather than the real threat, that no amounts of DLC could rectify those faults ( though would be preferred over a whole new game if they could somehow pull it off ).

That being said, if they don't release a DLC or Mass Effect title that actually INVOLVES the player in the reaper war, then BioWare/EA won't be seeing another dime coming from me.

I am a Mass Effect fan, not a Bioware fan so it's really easy for me to disregard their other games altogether.
As to ME4, well, Shepard's story is over so I don't think I'll care about that either.

I'm sure I'll eventually move past this mess and come back, at least enough to start playing the Bioware games I already own, but it'll take awhile for these feelings to go away.

No more Bioware preorders. No more Month-1 purchases, let alone Day-1.

I will buy all Bioware games at $20 or below only (or used). If they're gonna be charging me $10 DLC's, then I will buy it when ALL the DLC's + the original game will cost $60 ((since that's how much a FULL and COMPLETE game is supposed to cost). Withholding content with the intention of selling it again means that it is incomplete.

they'll have lost my business, no reason for me to purchase another ME game (or bioware for that matter) if their top people can't deliver on their promises and make a product i consider to not be worthy of my time and dollars

for those that don't blame them, then there's no reason to buy if they don't get the time and funds they need from ea....

for those who liked the endings, i appreciate your point of view, but that won't change mine...

I wont say i'll go away but before all this started i would buy another crappy CE for 80$ if it was from Bioware.
Now i wont buy DA3 or any other game made by Bioware blindly, no more pre orders and preferably promotions or bargain bins.

Bioware will never see my money again, I'm 100% sure of that. So far the only games I bought for more than 30€ were Mass Effect series, Deus Ex series and Starcraft series, because I trusted Bioware, Blizzard and well... it's Deus Ex after all. The rest? Steam and used copies. I can't trust Bioware anymore (mostly thanks to EA) so I won't buy their games anymore, easy. I don't like to spent more than 50€ and then being insulted.

I'm still here not for the game but for the people here. I like to read real opinions, not PR crap from almost every videogame website. I want to know what people expect from a game (any game), their motivations, their thoughts and how the company reacts when their core fans are pretty pissed off. Some threads are really interesting, specially those which talk about narrative or how to write a good plot.

I'm just going to go back to my old policy, don't buy games new. It's impossible to be disappointed by a game if it's $20. I used to want to support the game studios, but the last few months have shown me that I really shouldn't care about the studios.

Show me a game company that hasn't produced a dog or two. Even Bethesda has produced dogs... look at Rage. They've got two bread and butter franchises: TES and Fallout.

Bioware had Mass Effect, and they produced a dog in ME3. I don't think the EC with simple clarification can fix it. If it were a TV series it contained some good story arcs: Rannoch and Tuchanka; but the rest was mediocre at best and horrid at worst. It could have been so much better. Dragon Age is teetering after DA2.

I'll wait for the reviews... not magazine reviews. I don't trust those because they're usually based on advertizing revenue. User reviews. If the user reviews are good after two to three weeks, I'll buy. If not? I won't buy.

ME1 and ME2 are still good fun games. Just erase Arrival from the old hard drive and you can end the series right there. Reapers are stranded about 100,000 LY in dark space. Installment 3 got cancelled. I can head cannon that.

I won't pre-order any future games. I may purchase them or not depending on how the game endings are handled. I don't play video games that leave me depressed, it's my own personal rule.

I'll replay my old games, KOTOR, JE, ME1 and 2, DA:O and 2, or I'll play my old FA 3 with Broken Steel or FA NV. Maybe something new like torchlight 2.

If ME3 ending choices are the way they are going with future games then they are no longer making the games I love, they are making them for someone else, and I'll have to check before I buy because I no longer trust them as I have in the past. The EC will hopefully help my enjoyment of ME3, but it's too late for the trust issues. I won't pre-order the next game.
