[Han Shot First]

Just out of curiosity, what route would you have gone if your favorite LI in the game had instead been a non-romanceable squadmate or crewmember? Is there another character that your Shepard would have went for instead, or would he or she have been forever alone?

Out of the potential LIs Liara is my favorite, but if she wasn't an LI my Shep probably would have stuck with Miranda. He was with her in ME2 (prior to LotSB), and she is one of my favorite characters in the series.

If both wasn't romancable, FOREVER ALONE

If Liara wasn't romanceable, I think that my Shepard would have definitely gone for Jack. After Liara's romance, I find Jack's one (in ME2 that is) very emotional and crucial for her character development, and I think my Shepard would have seen what Jack has gone through all her life, try to help her because that's who he is, and then things will lead up to something more before he knows it, and he would have fallen for her.

I would probably have romanced Ashley in my first playthrough then figured in ME2 that she pretty much got the shaft and treated me like a traitor.

For any future playthrough in ME1 my Shep would stay single (since Liara would be unavailable) and for ME2 I think he would've gone with Tali because I really like her character. I never actually romanced her before because to me she never really matched up to Liara.

No other LI has really ever interested me. If I couldnt have Ash or Miranda would that non-LI characters would be available? If so, hellllloooo Kasumi....

If Kaidan wouldn't be there, I would go for Thane (Yes, even with him dying at the middle of ME3). Both not there, then Forever alone.

My Shepard's LI was Thane. If he were not romanceable, I guess she'd be alone. Oh wait, that happens anyway.

My Sheploo was Jack. I suppose if she were unavailable then he'd just stay alone and troll bars.

If no Kaidan, then: Compatibility-wise, Garrus. Probability-wise, Liara due to being first on scene in ME1.

Can't say I would be happy. My LI is Tali. Liara is a creeper, Ash goes insane in ME3, Miranda is cerberus cheerleader icequeen. I guess Jack. I do empathize with her, despite her scaring me.
