if liara wasn't romanceable then i would romance no one. the rest are just so boring and uninteresting. but damn i wish aria was squadmate and you could romance her.

Primary LI is Tali and would be less enthused about the series if they didn't take note of her popularity with the guys and make her an LI in ME2. Before that I was just going through the motions with Ash in ME1 and never was really keen on Liara not being special to a gender.
So who would I go for if no Tali? Jack is my second favorite LI and would somewhat mollify the disappointment.
My one series femShep, I felt that she was taken with Thane, and so played her as such. Would just play as though she was unattached or had someone important out there otherwise.

If Jack wasn't a LI, I think at first I would choose Tali because I didn't like Miranda in the beginning, but I would have romanced Miranda eventually, just like I did. The good part of Jack not being romanceable would be having a clean slate to be with Kaidan.

If Miranda wasn't a LI I would still play the Mass Effect games because she is still in them at least, and because Shepard is too. It wouldn't be as fun to play the Mass Effect games because Miranda and Shepard wouldn't be together, so Miranda would have no one (and less dialogue.) I wouldn't make my Shepard romance anyone else in the game because Miranda and Shepard are the only two that make the best video game couple in the game.

My two favorite ME characters already aren't LIs, Mordin and Samara. So I would probably like the LI characters just as well if they weren't LIs.
