1) You can set up your profile, specifying whether you are proficient in various fields, and whether you are available for work. I would have liked to see this more detailed. "Proficiency" is not just a yes/no issue. I ticked three boxes, for example, where I consider myself fairly proficient in two cases, and a top-notch expert in one - however, there was no way for me to indicate this. Second, I would be willing and available for work in some of the categories, but less so in others - however, there is only a single yes/no to indicate availability.

2) Related to the above, there were a few additional proficiency categories I would have liked to see - "testing", for example. Larger projects are going to need people testing them, but currently you cannot even indicate a willingness to work as a tester for community projects.

3) Project information and status. I did not see a way to set the development status of a project ("Design phase", "Inactive", "Completed" and so on). I would for example like to be able to search only through "completed" projects.

4) Project type classification. You can select the project type from a few categories, but I feel those categories are too broad, and several expected categories were just missing. It would also help if you were able to specify a number of keywords for each project and of course the project search should be updated to handle keyword search as well. This is not a big deal while you have only a few projects, but better searching is needed once you have hundreds of projects.

I think they are all great and should really benefit the site.

Good list. I also would have liked to see "writing" perhaps separated into some more specific areas. For instance, I can do well writing conversations but not so much with prose or overall story development.

Just added "testing" as a possible proficiency. We'll look into the possibility of making it more than just a yes/no.

Could you guys discuss amongst yourselves and come up with a full suggested list of project categories? We definitely need some more options.

here is one from adaram that seem to go a bit over the top.

I have the following thoughts and ideas with respect to the Social Site:

1. Sub forums for project groups

2. Sub wiki's for project groups -- public and private areas allowed (if possible)

3. Themes ... more themes .. customizable themes

4. Add actual game help files to a wiki that is attached to the social site.

5. Assume the wiki will allow people to contribute stuff that will help other players (many games have separate community made wiki's, ie. LOTRO Wiki, DDO Wiki, etc.). You guys can actually have the same thing but have it stuck right to your community (you probably already thought of this but just in case)

6. Automatic way to post in game screenshots or video even to the Blog section

7. Public and Private Blogs

8. Project related task lists, ownership, dates (like project mgmt sw) inside each project area

9. Groups and projects. If possible, projects should be able to be attached to a Group, so you could have a single group with multiple projects (sub-projects, if you will).

That's all for now. Look forward to seeing what changes between our sneak preview and the actual Beta (closed or open) phase!

we either need subcategories or settings for each of the existing categories. they are simple to broad to work in a hugh community.

So DA:O End User Module should have subcategories covering atleast:

action (hack and slash)

story (some what linear rpg)

free form (sandbox rpg)

puzzle (minigames or monkey island kind of module)

cinematic (more movie then game)

scifi (total conversion projects in high tech settings)

modern (total conversion projects in modern settings)
