My questions this time around are:

"Do you feel there is a good range of weaponry to choose from?"

There is a just barely moderate range in weapons. There are two categories I would like out of that range to be increased.  More guns that fit really well with certain powers.  For instance there are number of guns that without the use of marksmen aren't very good, like the revenant.  I like this though, because now you have a really neat specific set up FOR this weapon and you can build a character around it, but Marksmen is a good enough ability that it can easily extend to other weapons as well so you aren't pigeon holed.  So you could do the same with say the arc pistol, where it could innately set off tech bursts.  Too many weapons are only diferent from other weapons in pure damage or rof.  There is a lot of room to experiment here.

The other would be weapons that are difficult to use but the pay off is huge if you are good with them.  Like the Kishok or the Javelin.  The Hurricane, striker and Revanant could fall under here, but really for the last two to really be effective you have to lessen the difficulty of use via consumables.  The Hurricane also really isn't hard to use, you just need to be kinda close to get it's full effectiveness.

"Do you feel there is a weapon that fills every niche and level?"
(e.g. - From low: "Give this weapon to the rookie so he doesn't hurt him/herself or anyone else for that matter" to High: "This weapon makes things go away just by its mere presence on the battlefield", and everything in between)

for the most part yest, however there is one weapon that sort of fills a slot at every level and that is the Krysae.  if you are really good with it, you will rock.  If you aren't really good with it, you'll still be effective.  It's good up close, at range for single targets, muliple targets etc etc.  I don't want a nerf to the gun at all, just saying that for future guns both Strengths and weakness I feel should be more defined.

"With the above questions in mind, which is your favourite weapon overall?" I am not asking which you think is the "best", only which one do you simply like to play with most of all.

Cheers!

Overall I have two favorites that I love equally, and that by and large I roll with the most.  The Valiant and the claymore.  The Valiant because the game play for it simply feels fast and furious.  If you have ever seen that movie Saving Private Ryan, I generally feel like the sniper guy from that movie.  bolting out shot after shot watching my enemy fall before in droves.  Most snipers are too slow, either in reload time or ROF to make me feel the same.

The claymore for it's sheer amount of power and because reload cancelling to me is really fun and fulfilling.  Hitting that super fast cancel perfectly and just mowing down three enemies in front of me is great.  I feel like a moblie heavy weapons platform with that thing

I'd just like to say that even if Derek doesn't read all of these posts. I did and I've enjoyed seeing others feedback.

The game lacks SMGs in general. It would be good to see new ones that actually can be used as a main weapon.

I don't mind most of the SMGs being weaker than other weapons, after all they are intended to be carried as sidearms with ULM. But at the present time, with the ULM bug not fixed there are only a handful of SMGs that are really useful and only on certain builds (Hurricane, Hornet and sometimes Tempest). So first fixing this bug would be a huge step forward to make SMGs more used by many classes, the GPSMG for example has for saving grace that it's the only SMG with ULM working so we actually see people using it as a sidearm. After that I wouldn't mind seeing more SMGs that have interesting enough properties to be used as a main weapon in some niche gameplay.

To answer the questions in order :

1) Yes

2) Yes, but some like the Krysae, Carnifex and GPS are just so good they can be used on almost anyone. Some other weapons are pretty bad IMO at high level no matter how you look at it and can't really find a niche. That would be Shuriken, Locust, Avenger, Phaeston, GPR, Katana, Mantis, Striker (problem with the absence of or faultly proximity burst making it hard to land shots on some targets) and the Incisor. The rest of the weapons are fine although definitely not equal in effectiveness, but they can find some use on certain builds.

3) My favorite weapon or at least the one I use the most has got to be the Eviscerator. Very precise and versatile shotgun for power reliant classes, I love it. Easy to unlock and max out on top of that.

- Yes. Actually I'm worried with the weird thinks you guys will come up from now on, I don't know what more can be invented...

- Yes.

- Vindicator. She work in any situation. Close and long range, against armor or shield/barrier, when I need cooldown or when I just need a reliable weapon. When I want to be sure I will have what I need, it's the Vindicator that I will choose. Not the most powerful, but the most reliable...

1. No, I feel there are gaps in AR and SMG
2. You have plenty of different levels of weapons, but again in AR/SMG there is no real middle ground.
3. Reegar, currently.

In my opinion - here is only 2-3 good AR's that i will use (and here is like 10 of them). Which should tell you something.

Shotguns are fine all, except scimitar. (Too low damage)

All pistols have it's uses as well.

Sniper rifles... because of shield-gate, 1-shot snipers are relatively bad (and in my opoinion should have much more damage per bullet), but again nothing serious to complain about in this class.

SMG... except hurricane mostly useless class of weapons. I guess it's fine as back-up wapon, but so what? A new ultra-rare good SMG with build-in AP capabilities like crusader/widow have would be nice.

And for last question, my favorite guns are Harrier/Saber/Valiant/Hurricane/GethPS/Carnifex/Javelin :)

Yes.

For a long time, it was the Geth Pulse Shotgun, but lately it has been the Black Widow X and Scorpion X. Once I leveled up the ultra-rares, I felt more comfortable using them.

"Do you feel there is a good range of weaponry to choose from?"

There is a pretty good range of arms to choose from. However, it is my opinion that there is not a range of good weaponry to choose from.

One of the most glaring problems with the current arsenal results from the combination of three factors - the substantial scaling of enemy armor ratings with difficulty level; the high damage output of enemies on higher difficulty levels driving players to avoid damage by either taking cover often or alpha striking enemies before they become a threat; and the lack of the Incendiary Ammo power (specifically, the rank 6 explosive rounds upgrade that makes every shot do +100 damage). This results in the majority of the high rate of fire weapons underperforming in comparison to slower firing ones. Although the weekly balance changes have helped to alleviate this issue, only a handful of the rapid fire weapons are truly competitive.

Another, more subtle, issue is the inconsistency in the weight values assigned to the various weapons. Pistols (and a couple of the SMGs) have extremely low weights, but in several cases outperform other weapons with a comparable role. For example, the Talon outputs more damage than most shotguns, and is substantially lighter than the ones that it does not outclass. Similarly, the Paladin is comparable to several sniper rifles (except when using the sniper evolution on Tactical Cloak), as well as the Saber and the Crusader, but is much, much lighter. And the Tempest is both lighter and more damaging than the Avenger, Geth Pulse Rifle, and Phaeston.

I would say that the Geth Plasma Shotgun is great for new players, except that most won't have it yet due to its rarity. But its high damage and auto-tracking make it both powerful and easy to use. Otherwise, the best weapon for new players is probably the Predator - it's common and therefore easy to upgrade, it's light and so minimally affects cooldowns, it has a high rate of fire and so is forgiving of misses, and it has decent damage output if the player can get close to its maximum rate of fire

As far as the other end of the spectrum, the Krysae, even after the recent balance tweaks, is an extremely powerful weapon in the hands of an Infiltrator built for sniping - let alone an entire squad of them. It doesn't have quite the single target potential of other weapons, but it can clear groups of lesser foes in short order.

"With the above questions in mind, which is your favourite weapon overall?" I am not asking which you think is the "best", only which one do you simply like to play with most of all.

My favorite is currently the Hurricane, although I'd probably prefer the Harrier if I had it. I also enjoy using the Revenant. I like automatic weapons, in case you couldn't tell.

Yes. I haven't even tried out all the weapons yet and the majority of my characters are each using different weapons.

No. I think there should be an SMG that works like they did in ME2 where it takes down shields fast. The Reegar takes them out quickly, but you have to be right on them for that to work. If there were weapons more specialized to type, I might have more incentive to use both weapon slots, as it stands I typically only use one.

My favorite weapon is the Valiant. Next would be the Geth Plasma Shotgun and the Harrier.

almost,
SMGs are main problem. hurricane and what else? Maybe some ultra rare here?

ARs. harrier is the first REAL ar. we need more of this type (full auto and with good acc)

shotguns probably need only some full auto shotgun, or some double barrel one, (2 fast shots, than reload).

snipers. some 2 shot one. probably rare one. For ppl who want to snipe on gold, but don't have valiand or bw and don't want krysae.
something with jeveling. it's ultra rare weapon with way less usability than other ultra rares. It's "harder hitting" widow, shield gate make this gun hard to use on gold ( you need to be SI, maybe GE or play vs reapers) to really use this whole massive damage.

"Do you feel there is a weapon that fills every niche and level?"

hard to say. Probably only those easy to use guns, like GPS and krysae, which doesn't require aiming at all and works on all eneme type. Main problem are phantoms, which have massive DR with hand magic on normal guns, but just dies from those 2 weapons very fast.

Yes.

No.  Until the Harrier the Assault Rifle class was extremely weak.  Think about it most armies and even special forces units RELY on the assault rifle.  In this game "heavy" pistols seem to take priority.  Why.  In certain roles yes.  But I think Bioware has gotten it backwards in this respect.  Even most cut scenes show characters or other soldiers\\enemies with ARs.  Yet they are under powered or crippiled (Harrier weight & ammo).  Remember the Firewalker pack in ME2? Geth troopers with Pulse Rifles could kill the Hammerhead.  In MP the rifle is really a joke.  Same with Collector rifles.  These are supposed to be some of the most feared and scary enemies.  The AR is the bread and butter of EVERY army, yet most are unusable.  As is the soldier class due to this.

The Harrier and Mattock are used the most.  I'd like to use more ARs but they are just to weak to play on Gold.

I'm making my post in a complete vacuum, because despite being at work with nothing to do I'm not going to read 13+ pages of what are essentially lists. (I'm sure this data is very valuable to you though Derek!)

"Do you feel there is a good range of weaponry to choose from?"

I do, although that full range would be much more accessible to many characters if ULM were applying its weight reduction to cooldowns in-game.

"Do you feel there is a weapon that fills every niche and level?"

Sure, a lot of the starter weapons are not bad at all, and the rare and ultra-rare weapons' utility and performance by and large merit their rarity. It would be nice if there were more weapons that required a learning period or were unique in their handling somehow so that they would reward player dedication. Ideally, when a player learns to control one of these difficult to master weapons, he should be able to perform at a higher level with it than the most popular and user-friendly weapons. (I think you know which ones I mean ;))

"With the above questions in mind, which is your favourite weapon overall?"

The Claymore comes to mind, because aside from being fun to use and damn powerful, it rewards precision and punishes errors and waste. I also really like the rhythm I get going in a match with it, as well; the constant circling of soft cover, the reload cancel, stutter step, cloak cycle and all that. I don't feel like I'm unequipped to deal with any particular enemy when I'm carrying it. A few other faves are the Valiant, Reegar (especially on my Drell Vanguard, it's beautiful), Vindicator (would be nice if it got a tiny buff though), Striker (for the sound and the unusual mechanics), Graal (especially with a character with a stunning ability), and Carnifex.

From a gold gameplay perspective:

"Do you feel there is a good range of weaponry to choose from?"

No. As has been mentioned previously, the way the game is scaled and the way armor damage reduction works, the game heavily favors slow-firing weapons that deal out massive amounts of damage per shot. Not only are they not nearly as affected by the damage reduction on armor, they're much, much better at getting off a few shots before having to dive back in cover.

I feel like there's no real reason to use an automatic weapon because they lack the absolute stopping power of the single shot ones. After all, who needs more DPS when the pistols and sniper rifles are capable of killing enemies in 2-3 shots?

"Do you feel there is a weapon that fills every niche and level?"
(e.g. - From low: "Give this weapon to the rookie so he doesn't hurt him/herself or anyone else for that matter" to High: "This weapon makes things go away just by its mere presence on the battlefield", and everything in between)

Again, on gold, no. Every weapon can be used on gold, sure, but you are seriously gimping yourself by not using a pistol/sniper/shotgun. To quote a friend on the state of weapon balance, "do you want the pinto, the maserati or the lamborghini?". There's really no "middle ground" on gold. The weapon is barely usable or it completely annihilates everything.

"With the above questions in mind, which is your favourite weapon overall?" I am not asking which you think is the "best", only which one do you simply like to play with most of all.

I really want to like the assault rifles, but aside from the Harrier (I don't have one, just what I've heard), they really aren't all that amazing, so I tend to stick to the Paladin/Carnifex because of the easy headshots and light weight for my casters.

- Not really, no.

- Nope.

- It used to be the Kishock until the patch came along. Now I have none. I simply use whatever the situation, class, or build demands. Boredom has set in and judging from the current handling of balancing I can't imagine I'll be playing this for much longer.

Lots of Weapons, but some are virtually useless while others own everything.

Certain Weapon "Archtypes" seem ineffective, (i.e., fast firing guns don't always seem extra good against shields; slow firing, hard hitting weapons don't always seem extra good on armor), while others just wipe the floor with everything. So, why carry a weak submachinegun when the Carnifex dominates it in almost every way? And why even bother with stupid thermal clips if the submachineguns aren't useful, (a little lore tossed in to further the point).

Possible worthy additions to the weapons lists:
Burst-Fire Assault Rifle (N7), Burst-Fire SMG, [or a design for longer range] (N7)

Favorites:
Pistols: N7 Eagle/Carnifex
SMG: Hurricane/Hornet
Shotgun: Graal
Assault Rifle: Harrier
Sniper Rifle: Javelin, (haven't unlocked many of the N7 rifles)

Yes, there are a wide range of weapons to use. Most of them feel unique. There's quite a few niches filled as well. Although I am disappointed in seeing the Kishok lose it's niche and become more of a liability than it is useful.

And for my favorite gun, right now, I'd say it has to be the Harrier. I am absolutely loving that gun right now. Runners up would be hard to choose, as I love too many of the guns to choose just one.

Yes, or rater it would be a good range if some of the rapid fire weapons actaully had a some kind of advantage/use over the lower shot volume but harder hitting ones. It would also help if you actually fixed the bloody ULMs and beefed up the SMGs vs Shields/Barrier.

Carnifex. Best rate of fire in it's damage class. Super high accurcey allows for headshots without a scope on PC for sure (thus giving it an extra damage ping). Quick realod for panic inclose work. Has both Damage boost and AP mods to be even more effetive against armor. Makes both a good primary and secondary weapon.

Geth Plasma Shotgun. Similar deal.

Reegar Carbine. Remove it's ability to headshot and that should make it less deadly.

"With the above questions in mind, which is your favourite weapon overall?" I am not asking which you think is the "best", only which one do you simply like to play with most of all.

I used to really like the Temptest back in Mass Effect 2. It's an okay weapon that I'd like to use more in ME3 MP but the Ultralight Materials are broken so I can't really use it as a side arm to weapon that do better against armor.

I can't say I have a serious favorte overall, depends on my mood and what I feel like dealing with. If I want to outright win I'll use a Reegar and Krogan Vanguard and just get in everythings face. If I'm playing marksman I'll have a Revenant and a Temptest on a Turian Solider.

Raptor, Geth Plasma Shotgun, Eviscerator, Kishock Harpoon Gun (until you took away the reward for dealing with both a projectile and lag issues, bring back the headshotting, it took skill and luck to put those on target), Talon, Saber. I can have fun with most weapons.

=====

Better question would be "are there any weapons you dislike overall?"

Frankly you've got some fairly useless weapons that feel more like you'd be better off unbotting your armor and pissing on the enemy even in Silver. Both the Incisor and Viper still make that list. It doesn't feel good when I know I can out shoot both with a non-scope Barrel/AP Carnifex.

I think others have said it. Don't adjust the Carnifex. You should be adjusting eveything else because if you bring the Carnifex down then you're baslically telling us that you expected Gold to be nearly impossible cluster grope of epic proporations and really should not be trusted to blance futuer MP games.

Two things are clearlly ****ing with your guns.

#1 Armor. The way super rapid fire weapons are compensated by low damage makes it like pissing on armor in Gold, even with mods and ammo powers. They don't strip shields any faster then lower shot harder hitting weapons. Really you should just boost the damage and let automatic weapons just do more total hypotical Damage Per Second then most single shots in the same weight class. Partly because shorts will miss and when it comes to Armor their damage curve isn't going to look as nice, which would be okay if they took out shields and bodyshot health easier. Because most of the Big Bads are armored and the DR is so sharp for most of them, Automatic weapons should be able to grease Trooper and Elite Trooper (the ones with shields) much faster then single shot perisions weapons. This isn't as demonstrably the case.

#2 Tactical Cloak compensated Sniper rifles. I'm sure you've already read the various calcuation threads regrading tactical cloak. Please, there have been some really good suggestions to both reduce the over all damage out of Infiltrators and Sniper rifles actually feel more useful in non-Infiltrator hands.
